Time to start reducing the collection a little. This is one of my favorite pieces. Winchester model 70 Safari "Big Five" Custom Shop rifle, 470 Capstick, 24k gold inlay of Rhino on floor plate, only 125 of the collection produced in the Winchester Custom Shop, rifle is unfired and comes in original box with custom shop letter detailing build specifications, comes with Five sealed boxes of custom ammo (4 A-Square and 1 Superior) $6800 Shipped and Insured to your FFL in lower 48.

Very Nice! GLWS.

Do you remember the others. I saw the set at a Sheels 6-7 years ago. Money was tight so I didn’t buy it. It was crazy cheap. Been kicking myself ever since. I think I remember some of them but I’m sure someone here will know them.

They came in a five gun set.

.338 Win was the leopard
.375 H&H—lion
..416 Rem—buffalo
.458 Win—elephant
.470 Capstick-Rhino

I grow weary. Quick search will reveal other designations. I think .416 was buff and .458 elephant. Could be very wrong. :) Just fixed. I was brain cramped.

Yep that seems right. Cool.

Did Remington build a "470 Captsitick" as well?
Thank you.

A very nice piece!

Not detracting from the gun or package, but do you think it's a wise idea for buyer to shoot 21 y/o ammo out of it? Perhaps consider pulling the bullets/dumping powder/deprime/resize/reloading! I nearly destroyed a fine Wby rifle decades ago by firing the ammo that came with it (Wby took the gun back, checked it out thoroughly and advised to "dump" the ammo. My 338 A-Sq had the same issue (ammo was prob. 15 y/o when I got it, but those are GREAT bullets and of course rare brass, so reloading is the way to go. If some sort of temp controls were utlilized it might be ok, but that's prob not the gun to fire and find out! :) If only ey-are-ess didn't ask me for that exact sum (for 2021) just 3 weeks in advance of the current tax day. They apparently couldn't send out notices during covid and are just catching up for '21. Oh my. Two beauties in one: Designed by Col. Art Alphin O' A-Square fame for Peter Hathaway Capstick! The .470-.375HH I believe. Plus, my rules re: new guns-IF i want a new one, I must part with an old one, but at a certain point they're all good and hard to part with. I've been letting some Paul Jaeger sporters collect dust....Hmmm.

Where (approx.) in VA. What area? Not address or coordinates of course.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
