Take a look at my latest addition. Should make a great little Deer/PG rifle.
If it shoots as well as it looks, it will be a great rifle! Just need to add a scope. I'm thinking a 2-7×33 Leupold should fit nicely.

Toby, XTRs are great rifles. I have one in .300 HH, not as pretty as yours but as accurate a rifle as I have ever owned!!!

I've always liked the idea of a 300 H&H. But, I've never owned one. Some people may not like the push feed action, but mine feeds and ejects perfectly. And since this is an Elephant rifle, that's a plus! :P Elmer Fudd:

My .300 Hollands XTR, I believe a limited distributor rifle, feeds like oiled snot!:eek:o_O:D:rolleyes:

Toby, you are correct, they make a nice Deer rifle and a lot of fun on the range as well. Mine is a M 70 Featherweight. Did you "steal" this one too?

Great Find

His is a Featherweight also.

That's very similar to my son's M70 Featherweight Classic 30-06. Keeping things simple he went for an M8 6x42mm Leupold. It's accounted for a few deer and elk. M70s have a good family line.

Yes. This is a Featherweight as well. I bought it as a package that included a Swift Scope with a steel one piece scope base and steel rings. I plan to sell the scope and mounts. I prefer two piece bases and lightweight rings on a small rifle like this. No need to weigh it down with a large scope and heavy bases.

And with iron sights to boot! Toby, I'm sure you will find the accuracy more than satisfactory. I have one made in 1981 That will shoot all weights between 130 and 175 grains within 1.5". Congratulations on a fine rifle!

Yes. Unfortunately, someone had removed the front sight and put in filler screws. I had to order a new front sight, sight insert and sight hood. So....$77 later I have a complete rifle! I think a gun with iron sights is fitting for the 7x57. I've always loved the 7x57 caliber, and have had 2 Ruger No 1 rifles so chambered. But I always wanted a bolt gun in that caliber, so I hope this one works out.
I think this one was made in 1982.

Very nice! Congrats! I have one very similar. Mine is a 90's vintage XTR Featherweight 7mm Mauser with the factory laminated stock. No sights. Interestingly the scope I have on it is exactly what you're considering, a Leupold 2-7X33. Great minds think alike. IIRC my XTR is the only push feed rifle I own but that's mainly a coincidence. Like a lot of folks I think CRF is important for a DG rifle but for everything else it's not important. Don't get me wrong, I prefer CRF but my XTR is such a well made slick rifle it's a complete nonissue. Great rifles. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

The orange recoil pad really sets it off and I like that look.
Congrats on another beauty.

This one for you or headed to the classifieds?

I'm going to hold on to this one for awhile. I also like the red recoil pad
I've always liked the forend on these Featherweights as well.

Nice @TOBY458 when does it go up for sale?

Well.....if I "pull the trigger" on this Heym Martini Express 404 Jeffrey I'm drooling over at DSC, my whole collection may be in jeopardy!

now your talking buddy

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
