How many still forage?
We have mulberry getting ripe
A bunch of blueberries on the bushes
Some crabapple
And looks like going to be a good blackberry year with all the blooms if we get some rain

I have two good sized pawpaw trees in my yard, that is about as far as I forage besides at the local farmer's market. Raspberries probably if I stumbled across a good patch.

Blackberries, walnuts, ginseng, yellow root, morels, violets, dandelions and bittercress. In Arizona we also collected prickly pears and barrel cactus fruit. Mesquite beans are another option I never bothered with.

I have tried to grow pawpaws never had any luck.
I would get them up to a 3 years old and something would happen.
Get mowed over, horse eat it a pecan limb fall on them and kill them.
I just stoped trying lol

We do pecans
The only walnut we have are the black ones and there good. But not worth the aggravation to crack and hull.
I have planted some prickly pear by the fence to try and get the to grow the plant is doing ok but has not made the fruit yet

@Flbt I tried digging very small pawpaws up for several years but they never survived. Our local county park district offered container grown natives for sale, bought these two. Over 20 foot tall. Raccoons will break the branches if not too thick. Have-No-Heart traps and .22 CB caps have cured that. If a good year, probably around a 5 gallon bucket worth? I have a neighbor who loves these, she gets all she wants. Letting the possums and raccoons eat them and drop their turds seems to help germinate them.

I tried to get pic of everything but the service is bad

i was told you could make a pawpaw bread that was better than banana bread why I was trying to grow them lol

We have a lot of wild blackberries, i can pick all i want to in an evening. Enough for a couple cobblers or pies. Pecans also, depending on the year. I am sure if i needed to look harder there would be more food available but I don't have enough motivation for that.

Morels, tis the season.

Blackberries, persimmons, ramps and chanterelles here mostly

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
