Why you never ship a scope to a buddy outside the USA

For sport and hunting releated stuff this is 100% true. Only one hurt is American business.

most optics are made in europe or far east
they just have higher duties on these types of goods, even in their own country

It means us in the rest of the world struggle to buy the US goods we would like and end up paying very highly for goods we could get reasonably in the USA.

Something like a Boyd's stock is twice the cost in the UK as US due to the importers making a huge margin.
