Got good medical cover (or a half decent NHS)?
Like using a landle to measure powder?
Consider 500gr bullets the norm?

I hear you all shouting "oh I do, I do" and I'm sure you do.....but who's biggest?

We'll go by caliber but pop the cartridge down aswell so we can get a clear 'winner'.

Testosterone fuelled bragging COMMENCE!

I'll go first. 45-120 running a little under 4400 ft-lbs. Small time for many I'm sure ;)

600 Nitro single shooter that tosses a 1040 grn cast slug. 2 450 Nitro DR's and a 500/450 Nitro DR as well as several smaller ones.

I think you've comfortably taken top spot so far with the 600 nitro!

I'm gonna say include muzzle energy as well from this point.

I have a 69 cal dueling pistol, 58 and 54 cal rifles. 45-70,416 ruger, and 375 H&H for big bore guns.

Welcome to second place gizmo! 416 ruger may not be big but muzzle energy gets you there and the 69 cal pistol counts as your big bore contribution.

I feel phots are required of both your's and Mike's rifles :D

I can do that when I get home. Matt will be along shortly to put us all to shame with some super cannon he got.

Yeah I'm getting that impression of Matt the more time I spend on here.
Lucky bar steward!

Only here do I get an inferiority complex for just having a .458 Lott....

8 bore muzzle loader, 12 bore muzzle loader, 500NE, 416 RIGBY, 450/400 Ruger#1"s. 500BPE Double, 450NE double, 50 Alaskan P13 enfield, 50/90 rolling block, 50/70 sharps 458WM.

Pics are shown in my album. It's the side lever Daniel Fraser.

50 BMG Tejas it like a ackley imp. I can push a 750gr bullet at 3k. But it not much of a pack gun at 54lbs. For that I got my chapuis 470 nitro.

Working on getting out to two miles on target. 4x5 steel plate. Just waiting on a moab 300 MOA rail

That's one hell of a long range rig that mate!
Not my cup of tea but you gotta appreciate the beauty in the engineering if not the rifle.

That's a hell of a project. Most I ever made was a box!
yeah, when I was in high school I made a bar of soap in the chemistry lab for a science fair project, and won, but big deal. you can't defend your home from hordes of vikings with a bar of soap.
We had a great time with that thing. We threw bricks and 2 liter bottles with with water over a hundred yards accurately. We had it adjustable for high arching shots and for more horizontal shots for shorter distances and a harder punch.
He's 25 now and we're looking down the road to building one that will sling a bigger projectile. Would like to throw cinderblocks and bowling balls. it will take a MUCH heavier trebuchet and weight though.

my rifles are a 416 RM, a 500/416 NE, and a 585 HE. the HE is still waiting for its stock to be completed but it otherwise done and the 500/416 NE is with Mr. Searcy for chamber issues.

the 585 Hubel Express fires a .585" 750gr bullet at up to 2800 fps. this isnt the largest diameeter rifle out there but sits at 13,000 ft/lb of muzzle energy when loaded to full tilt.

having said all that, i dont see myself ever loading it past 2100 fps for hunting. the recoil at 2800 fps from my 12 pound gun would be outright uncontrolable!

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
