What new Ruger would you like to see in a limited special run?

Great idea but I think it will be like trying to herd cats...:X3: trying to get 50 people agreeing on one calibre in whichever rifle....and throwing left hand drive in as well...:E Big Grin:
@spike.t
I tried herding a mob of cats with my Doberman.
What a stuff up, they went every where and a few disappeared.
I thought it was fun to try but the cat shelter didn't have much of a sense of humour about it.

I don't like cats.

Yes, I had a man quote me a price to make one, it was on par with a Heym so I passed.

Another thought would be a stainless M77MKII with laminate stock in.458win with open sights.

There’s only one gun from ruger I’d probably want, a Hawkeye African in 35 whelen.

Outside of that I’m not interested, I never really got the appeal of the #1’s personally. I get they’re short but if I wanted a single shot I’d prefer a break action for easier access to loading. Big fan of the TC’s and owned several their first time around.

Iowa deer season only allows .350 and up, but is not restricted to straight walled rounds. So 35 whelen is the closest thing to a 30-06 you can get in terms of ballistics and recoil. A bit worse in both categories but you can’t really improve either without significantly worsening the other. 35 whelen ammo is also readily available here in Iowa now thanks to that law and a lot of people buying older whelens or building new. I hear one or two companies are even gonna start making new ones now.

Rifleman97, the last time I was in the store Randy had one in .35 Whelen with nice wood.

Oooo, if someone buys my 30-06 from the classifieds anytime soon I might give him a call haha

I would definitely buy M77 African in 338-06. I have a couple of the 35 whelens, one in-fired that I plan on never using. Especially considering the one I did shoot never gets used, even though it is an awesome shooter with 250 oryx bullets. I pick up my 9.3 over it every time, I just love it and it’s been to Africa twice already. But a 338-06, it would definitely get used and I may even buy 2! Heck, I have two sons, maybe 3

I would buy a Ruger Hawkeye African in 338-06, 338-06 AI, or 7 PRC.

I would also buy a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 22 Creedmoor.

Though I would not personally be in the market for one of these (because of the 6.5's I already own), I would bet that a FAST TWIST .257 Roberts or .257 Roberts AI would sell out quickly in either the Hawkeye African or a Ruger #1A.

@Bob Nelson 35Whelen - is that true? Has anyone really made a .45-70 out of a Ruger Red Label shotgun? Red Label shotguns won’t even hold up to high volume skeet shooting with standard target shells…..good shotguns for hunting but you don’t get 50,000+ rounds thru them like skeet/clays shotguns made by Browning, Beretta, Caesar etc…
What I would like to see made by Ruger — any rifle or shotgun with: Nice walnut wood, deeply blued high luster barrels, and a Trigger that’s Crisp w/pull weight 3 to 4lbs.. You know - a well made gun !!

M77 African in .275 Rigby

A limited run you say? How about a commemorative reissue of the RSM in 416 Rigby? They could brand it the Harry Selby edition. Charge whatever they want, within reason.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
