Thanks, I hear the Scrub Bull are more likely to charge. I also believe the Cape Buffalo are aggressive when cornered.@CBH Australia It depends on how much your going to be hunting them. If its a once off hunt and your with a PH then your 375H&H is perfect. If I'm shooting buff for the freezer I use a .338WM which I'm more than comfortable with. Hunting solo on foot I use a .416 Ruger. I've shot more buff with a 308 than anything else, but its not my preferred cal for it. I have just picked up a M70 in 458WM which will be my new go to for hunting them. Same goes for the scrub bulls, of which I've had a handful try to eat me. Still never had a buff charge.
If and when I am prepared to outlay for a hunt I would hunt any of those species for the experience and hope to stack some pigs alongside them.
I would use the .375H&H but I would be ok with buying something else if something interesting comes along.
I am fascinated by Dangerous Game but I’m not likely to start chasing trophy hunting all over and could not afford a Lion or Grizzly bear but it plan to make a few things happen while I’m still working and young enough to to go enjoy these experiences.
