What are best colors to paint walls in a trophy room?

Flat, satin , and semi gloss I think depends largely on your personal preference but also on the color you choose.

A tan color looks best to me when flat or satin. I have gold/ yellow/marigold color walls and they are semi gloss because the shine looks better to me.

This is a snapshot of two walls from the plans for my man cave. Building a house to retire in and construction will start later this year with anticipation of retirement next year. My other passion after hunting is LSU football, but suffice to say I won't be painting the walls purple or gold. The room is 20 ft x 30 ft with wood panels on the lower wall section, to about 8 ft. Above that is sheet rock, backed with 3/4 inch plywood. Sidewall height is 16ft and the end wall is about 20 ft. The other long wall is similar to one shown and the other end wall will have the fireplace, which we haven't finalized the look yet.

Before I started working with an architect, I bought a book on Amazon called "Trophy Rooms Around The World" and that turned out to be a waste of money. Most of the trophy rooms in the book were over the top, over crowded and absurd looking.

That will be a nice room. As an aside it should have very good acoustics, should you happen to be an audiophile.

Thoughts on type of paint, semi gloss or flat?

I personally like flat paint. It is a bit warmer, and the mounts seem to stand out more. I have a friend who’s lake cabin has a lightish green(think tundra moss) flat stain on the paint grade sanded plywood that looks great.

I went the yellow/gold route. Tan imo blends too much when it comes to floor color choice.

I realize this is an old post and I have since moved to Georgia and painted my trophy room in a green color. I realize color choice is very personal but I think the trophies look great on this background. Just my opinion. Just a few sample pictures.

So sorry to hear JB. Will lift up some prayers for her well being, as well as yours. And the room still looks fabulous!!

Thanks bud. Appreciate that

There are a lot of great rooms on this thread, but I really like the paint on this one. @Gsxrmike did you do this yourself or have it done. Takes skill to pull it off...
I agree, that room is really spectacular @Gsxrmike, and the lighting is excellent. Ambiance is a just right, well done.

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
