First off, I love this little double so I am perfectly happy keeping it, but I haven’t had a chance to load for it or anything yet. On the other hand I have been looking for a good Mauser Type S or M for a few years with no luck and considered this might be a decent trade or partial trade. I have also been looking for 3/4 stocked Mausers from one of the Suhl makers, or any Oberndorf wartime commercials as well.

This 9.3x72R rifle is still tight on face, zero perceivable movement, and functions flawlessly from what I can tell, extremely solid and crisp overall. The bores are very good with mild rounding of the lands with a slightly grey look to them, I have not even tried to clean them yet either, so they may look even better. The case colors are largely faded away but are still somewhat perceptible in natural light. The bluing is still quite good with most of the loss at the balance/carrying point. The rear sight is two position with a flip up ivory(?) front sight bead as well as an aperture flip up rear. There is a small two cartridge trap in the butt, and the horn buttplate is in beautiful condition still which is remarkable considering its age. There are some dings and compressions in the stock but nothing terrible and it has escaped any sanding or refinishing all these years. If you need any pictures or info don’t hesitate to ask.

Lovely piece. Have you considered just selling it outright and using the money for a Model 03 or such?........manufactured in the mid 80's I would guess? ....FWB

Thank you. If I could find a Mauser type S or M without issues I certainly would sell, however I haven’t seen one on the market in over a year that didn’t have some kind of issue as far as originality is concerned that’s why I’m trying to trade at current. The proofing on it is post 1891 I need to snap a picture.

I have lots of other Mausers and such for trade as well by the way, just looking for some particular Mausers.

@Themauserkid Just to give you a bump TTT, and to put a smile on your face, I am willing to trade my Mauser M18 straight across.
More seriously, was the Model M that you are seeking sold in the US as the #615, a full stock, 20" bbl often with a butterknife, in various calibers ( I have found one of these in 8X51) .....regards.....FWB

Bill, thank you sir! That sounds completely correct, I am presuming that is a Stoeger catalog number you have mentioned, though I am not positive. Definitely interested!

BTT, I will also entertain rifles with minor issues, a replacement safety or buttpad or some such. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful little double @Themauserkid
I'm ALMOST tempted to talk to you about some of my own Mausers.

Bump. Trade for any German guns, I mostly collect 1920’s-40’s commercial and military.

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
