Tonight is going to be a very long night

Charlie resting after he ate a full dinner

Today was another long day but Charlie has improved enough that he came home! Now he is still pretty sick but hopefully he continues to improve on a daily basis. I went to the store and got enough supplies and food that I don’t have to leave the house for the next five days and can stay here with him by his side…

This is what four days in the ICU looks like!

@CZDiesel - wow, expensive…My Son spent $12,000 for his Lab two years ago (dog swallowed a woman’s bathing suit) and 5 months later ate “another one”. Then my Son took out Pet Insurance. Sounds like your dog is recovering well - good news and happy for you, You certainly take excellent care of him

Yay, glad to hear Charlie is doing much better. Keep pampering and loving him. They love us unconditionally.

I don’t have kids, I’m single, but I have a best friend that is always with me my Dog Charlie. This morning and early afternoon he was acting just fine. This afternoon I found him laying there in the yard. I rushed him to the ER and he’s there fighting for his life tonight. He’s in the ICU on oxygen and stable now but they can’t figure out what is going on yet. I have had them bring in a Cardiologist and a Radiologist tomorrow morning and they will do a full CT scan and Cardio exam.
This is breaking my heart, he’s all I got…
Sorry to hear of this. A person often transfers a return on their own existence through interaction with animals and even things, possessions, etc. become "dear" to the heart" Your pain is understood. I suggest the book of Ecclesiastes--if your upbringing was of any biblical nature. I go to the room of the past and re-live the shadows.

I can easily bet Charlie anf you led a better life together than most folks in the world, love does that.

Update, hopefully the last update!

So about three weeks after finding Charlie in the yard and then having him spend four days in the ICU I’m now comfortable saying Charlie is completely out of the woods!!!
This last week and especially this last weekend Charlie has been feeling so well that he has punished me for leaving him alone in the ICU by being so active he’s running me ragged lol
It makes me so happy that we live in a country that has these sophisticated veterinary hospitals that saved his life! And so grateful for all your thoughts, prayers, and concern here on AH, what a great community we have! Thank you from both Charlie and I …

This is fantastic news! As our dogs get older we all have to face these moments. Just yesterday I took my 10 1/2 year old yellow lab on a pheasant hunt at a game bird club. He had a great day, covered about 5 miles in the hills, including a long uphill run after a bird I’d hit but which sailed a long way. Today, he’s paying a price for his big day and I’m wondering if he has many more seasons in him.

I’m very glad that Charlie is out of the woods. Cherish every day you have left with him. There won’t be enough of them. I’m writing this with my Lab, Buddy, sleeping in my lap. All 90 lbs of him asleep in my lap. I embrace every day we get to share.

So happy to hear he has made a full recovery and is running you ragged.
It must have been a trying time but he pulled through and that is excellent

Great to hear Charlie has recovered !

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
