Staining and sealing the wood today. Should epoxy the tusk into place once wood is dried and glued/nailed into place.

Epoxy glue. First time using this. So far so good!

One glued and letting dry

Both setting and epoxy almost done (5min per package, I’ll let it stay over night)

That’s the great question I’m still waiting to answer!

I’d love to place it in our baby’s nursery with diapers in between. But I would also like to be alive to go back to Africa again so it will most likely go on the dresser in the guest room with my other warthog skull mount.

Put children’s adventure books between them! Like Curious George, or Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys.

The finished project! 2018 tusk from ZA and 4 gold medals from Namibia in 2014 (kudu, warthog, gemsbok, red Hartebeests)

Takes a little time, but a great project for the DIY person who has an extra Warthog or limited space!

The tusk have made it to the living room! Officially placed by the wife which means they may move 109 more times

Had a buddy take a small warthog and didn't know what to do with the tusks, so I made him a tiny elephant mount inspired by this thread.
