My wife purchased a set of Tetra Custom Shield hearing aids/protection at the Nashville SCI convention. They were custom built for her hearing range and audio gram and intended use. Custom molded and she recieved them 2 weeks ago.

After wearing them for 2 weeks she was not impressed. In her opinion they were not much better than the several brands she had at $200-$300 range. The Tetra were $1700 and had $400 worth of free upgrades added. So retail was closer to $2300.

Now the positive news. Tetra asked if they could have them back to adjust them. She declined. And they immediately sent a return and refund number.

They did not play games and immediately refunded our money. They have been a stand up company all through the process.

I would agree with your wife, the expensive fitted ear plugs are more comfortable but not really more effective. The cheap silicone sealed one probably keep noise out better but they do make your ear uncomfortable after a while. Over ear muffs are the best.

Best plan i saw was cheap ear plugs with a joining wire, so the hunter just ticked the wire in his cap and let the plugs dangle over his shoulder. Then he shoved them in when we got close. I used electronic over ear muffs as i was filming hunts.

The primary reason for the purchase was She has hearing lose and struggles with whispering. And we thought that combining an amplifier and protection would work.
I don’t think she gave them a long enough trial. But at least Tetra completed a zero hassle return.

I had a wonderful experience with TETRA at SCI in 2023 and purchased their Custom Shield Multi-Pursuit, non-rechargeable batteries and no Bluetooth. They have been great for hunting waterfowl and turkey.

@Altitude sickness - Sorry your wife didn't like them, but I'm glad to see TETRA stand behind their product and make sure you were fully satisfied.

Tetra was great to work with from the beginning. Thru the refund.

I actually thought they sounded and worked great. She didn’t like them.

But buy with confidence. They stand behind the product.
