I find people that think that way often have a lack of self belief in themselves or their way of doing things, much more than the person bringing a new thing has.

Really?!? Would love to see your actual data on that. Is it based on a survey, chats at SCI or DSC, or perhaps your own experiences there? I have hunted Africa a great deal over the last 20+ years and have yet to meet a PH with either a suppressor or much of an opinion with respect to one. I admit, that I have only hunted South Africa twice, and clearly, judging by the videos and photography, suppressors seem to be prevalent on the rifles made available for the sports on game ranches. That seems to track with the growing "estate" management of game and hunting opportunities in South Africa that mirrors much of Europe and New Zealand. I hasten to add that I am not saying there is anything wrong with those hunting opportunities. However, I am suggesting there is a whole lot of that continent where things are a bit different and a suppressor would be perceived as, should we say, somewhat novel.
