I thought it would be interesting to hear how ya'll would break down hunting scenes from different movies.

Not sure about that but I did see (again) a silly blooper in an old black and white movie based on a Hemingway story, The Macomber Affair the other night. In the scene where the PH, Gregory Peck is finishing off the lion that the client ran away from :eek:you see the lion get rolled, Peck is shooting away and a closeup of the lion shows at least one arrow or short spear sticking out of it as it rolls over.o_O

He made some great calls on critter behaviour. From that you can tell he has actually hunted. Thanks for posting.

Steve Rinella's commentary is always amusing. For those who don't know, he's the host of the Meateater Show, available on My Outdoor TV and YouTube. All about hunting in the USA and using all parts and meat off an animal.

Thanks for sharing.

Rinella is my personal favorite hunting personality as he has none of the braggadocio other presenters have. In English, he's a total bro.

A little inconsequential info. An interesting part of the book “White Hunter” told of all the work PHes had to do for the old movies. They were pushed by the studios to get animals to charge the actors and then drop the animal in just the right spot. Pretty foolish at times according to the PHes. I can certainly understand their view!
Excellent book if anyone hasn’t read it. It also comes as an audio book for traveling.

And didn’t in one of those movies they actually shoot an elephant for the opening scene. Then they took a break from filming and several hours later the skinners came out to do their job and there was no elephant. The book White Hunters is an amazing book!

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
