Hi all im planning my planes game safari for next year and leaning towards Thornedale safaris has anyone used them recently and what was your opinion and would you use them again.

Thorndale Safaris are not too far from us. I have certainly heard of them, but can't offer any more info than that. Sorry. Who are the owners?

I hunted on their land on my most recent safari and got a great nyala. The whole place is chock full of nyala. Their lodge looks really nice and has a commanding view of the valley. They also have some nice giraffe. Very thick thorny brush on much of the land, as their name implies!

I hunted with @Umlilo Safaris, a sponsor here. They're located just across the road from Thornedale and may be able to offer additional thoughts about their operation.

The owner is a businessman and does not live on the farm. It is not up to me to make his name public, but I can offer some facts.
He bought Thorndale Farm from us in 1998.
The operation and hunting on the property is run by a manager, who has been there for many years.

I hunted there about 6 yrs ago. Personally my experience was good. Others in my party of 4 was NOT so good. This included food poisoning (including PH's) from some blood sausage. I didn't want any. Cost one of our group 1 1/2 days hunting. When a 5th person showed up my son lost 1/2 day of hunting due to no PH, but was still expected to pay the full daily rate. Some trophies were never shipped. This was my 2nd trip to Africa and so I was a bit greener than what I am now. I shot 3 animals that in hindsight really weren't trophies. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't of pulled the trigger. I thought that was part of what I was paying the PH for. Things change. Probably totally different now. Nice lodge with a great view.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
