Here's a young doe I managed to take with one of my .45 Colt Redhawks. She was facing me with her head down feeding at 43 yards. I lined up on her neck and hit her in the head.

Instead of hijacking degoins’ post, show us your handgun kills.

All mine taken with a Super Blackhawk 7,5” and 340gr casts.

So far one impala, 2 Zebra and an ancient grey duiker.

My aim is to spend at least one hendgun hunt a year.

Hunting with handguns is something you may become addicted to. I’ve hunted with a handgun my entire life, it’s just the only way I want to hunt! There is NOTHING you cannot take with the proper load and handgun.

Man you are a serious handgun hunter!! Great trophies!! Thanks for sharing.

Just an FYI, the newly restarted Handgun Hunters International did a couple USA hog hunts and a 14 day African safari this year in 2022.
if you do a little searching, there are a few organizations dedicated to strictly handgun hunters. Not wanting to take away from the OP, but here’s a few critters from the last Handgun only Safari this year.

On this particular hunt, I was using only a FA83 in 454. Plenty of power for the largest game ( using proper bullets and loads) a bit sporty on recoil, but extremely effective on the business end as well.

Beautiful Freedom Arms, and well done with some fine trophies. Thanks for sharing

Here’s a couple handgun deer, Ruger Blackhawk Hunter in 44mag and Contender 44mag.

Having never hunted with a handgun I’m just wondering what kind of distances do you normally shoot at? Do you use a rest or shoot off hand?

I will shoot without a rest only when I have to then don’t exceed 60yds. I use iron sights, no scope. Conditions usually dictate shoot, don’t shoot for me.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
