Sick on Safari

Before going to bed, prepare the following beverage, pour warm water in a glass, squeeze half a lemon in it, a spoonful of honey, and two fingers of whisky.

Next morning you´ll be fine. :D Cheers:
Ensure the two fingers used are as follows. Pinky and index as the caliper.

For a regular cootie, Zicam nose swabs as soon as the throat feels out of sorts. My first trip to RSA, I must have got some bad food (salad) at Dulles because by the time I got to Joburg, I was in the hurt locker. Overnight at Africa Sky didn't help and by the time I got to Blomfontein, I was not ready to hunt. My PH took me to a pharmacy where I described the symptoms, got some drugs and took them before I left the store. After a good night's sleep, was 75% good to go the next day. Day two all good.

Does anyone else carry a Z Pack or similar JIC antibiotics when traveling overseas? I know we spoke about the "Jase Case" just the other day. Trust me on this one. If you need it, you REALLY need it. Having that little security blanky sure feels good when you feel like Death herself is knocking on the bathroom door requesting a heart to heart!

Remedy I heard from an old New Englander. Light a candle on a stand at the foot of the bed, drink your favorite adult beverage until you see two candles, blow them both out and you will feel better in the morning.

Good suggestions all.

Vit C supplement every day, 365. Probiotic every day, 365. Vit D or sunshine everyday don’t over do Vit D dose.

At very first sign of cold/flu, Tamiflu or Zicam as directed or generic zinc gummies 2-3/day. For Montezuma’s revenge, carry 20 or so Cipro tabs when traveling, use as directed.

Cipro saved me from a charging salmonella a few years back!

Since the flu shot doesn't have the live virus in it you caught it somewhere else.

They also don't say that you can't catch the flu but your chances of not catching it is a lot better plus if you do catch it it may not be as bad.

The problem is that the manufacturer of the vaccine produces it before they know what strain of the flu is going to show up, much like the shotgun effect but even when using a shotgun there are misses.

When I can get a physician to proscribe Z-pack. But I usually have two others with me. But a Z-pack I’ve found is the best for minor crap.

I take cipro and a Z-pack with me every trip.

Nothing in the lower GI that cipro won’t kill in a couple of days… and nothing upper respiratory that a Z-pack won’t kill in short order…

I also take zolipedem (ambien) with me.. cures jet lag in 1 night (80%)

Learned those tricks when we were doing “round the world in 30 days tours” at the World Bank regularly… It was nothing for us to leave DC, head east, hit 10-12 countries in 4 weeks, circle the globe, and then come back home… all the while interacting with hundreds (or more) people, half of them in developing countries, with us carrying nasties we picked up in Niger to France.. then French nasties to Egypt.. Egyptian nasties to Ethiopia.. Ethiopian nasties to India.. Indian nasties to Australia.. etc etc…

We all had runny noses and the squirts pretty much all the time…

Cipro, Z-Packs, and Ambien kept us moving…

Always wondered why Australias are sound so strange now we know :ROFLMAO:

Does taking a flu shot help? The year I took it, I got the flu. I'm on the fence since.
The last time I got a flu shot, which was about 25 years ago, I got sick for several days, really sick. I haven’t gotten the flu ever since and never get a flu shot. I do take lots of supplements, multi-vitamin, magnesium, glutathione, D3/K2, zinc and several others. I seldom get anything beyond an occasional short term cold.

Good points so far and THANK YOU. As they say, we can put a man on the moon, but can't cure the common cold...

I carry a pharmacy when traveling, zpac, pain pills, anti inflammatory, anti scoots, muscle relaxers, eye drops, lip balm, etc. I think the med kit that’s being advertised on Fox lately would be the whole packet right in your luggage

Im in favor of sweating it out, in my sauna I get it so hot I can barely stand it. Un fortunately I didnt have a sauna when covid attacked me. and having long covid I just had another branch symptom of the stuff pop up 3 weeks ago. fatigue. Muscle fatigue. Which reminds me ,anyone know where fauci is hanging out, hes as bad as hitler and no indictments?

Instead of a Z pak, consider doxycycline. Covers alot of things over there and helps with some malarial medications. Can be an issue with sun exposure in some people. Or you could care both antibiotics.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
