After reading @mdwest post about his experience with Bell and Carlson stock, I thought it would be a good idea to give Blaser USA a good review.
I purchased an R8 Professional Savannah from @TOBY458, and it's a beautiful rifle. Later on a wood stock was offer here for sale, and I bought it. I'm a sucker for wood stock rifles. I bought thinking that it would an easy swamp. Noooo, the Professional and the stock I bought are not interchangeable. So, I ended buying a Blaser Jaeger receiver. Well, little did I know that the receiver did not come with the necessary hardware to put the rifle together. Frustrated, and not being able to find any "correct" answer, someone from the Blaser Bud forum gave me a name and e-mail address to Blaser USA.
I reached out to Blaser USA, and crickets. Well, the e-mail I got was an old e-mail, and somehow, I stumble and found the correct e-mail. Finally, someone from Blaser USA read my e-mail and replied back to me. Their gunsmith was out, so I had to wait a couple of days to see if they had the hardware I needed and if I had to ship the receiver and stock to them to be put together. Their gunsmith suggested they ship the parts and I put the rifle together. Well, $25 later (parts & shipping), the parts were in my hand.
Once the receiver and stock was put together, I thought (unknown to me) I need something else to attach the barrel to the receiver. More e-mails to Blaser to find out those parts were already on the receiver (oops, dumb me).
I'll have to thank Blaser USA for their patience, and assistance. Every day I learn something new about these Blaser platforms, and I am thankful that Blaser USA was able to help me out.
Some of the pictures of the progress of my rifle. I will soon have two R8 rifles, one for bad weather, and one for show off type weather.
Blaser USA, thank you very much for your kind assistance!!!
