I’ll start with- I typically struggle shooting from sticks. I’m currently using a Bogpod tripod with a U shaped rest. I’ve been reading a lot on here and dry firing at home over the last month. This was a hundred yard group today with my 9.3x74. Aiming point was the corner of the red square. I’m still getting a lot of wobble. I’m considering picking up a quality full sized 22 to be able to get more practice from field positions.

Definitely minute of buffalo (with heart the size of a basketball) and doubtful you'll be shooting at any of those a hundred yards away. I'm guessing at fifty yards the bullets are almost touching?

If dangerous game is your objective, I'd say you're good to go.

You’re tilting at windmills, mate.

Go hunting and be confident

I presume you're shooting a double rifle? If you're after dangerous game stick with practicing on tripod. Quad sticks are too slow to set up and readjust. Better for longer range shooting at plains game.

Once I discovered the quad sticks, my shooting improved dramatically. I've purchased two sets, and I've taken them with me to Africa.

Rudolph quad shooting sticks.

If you have a friend with a set like this one, try them out and I'm sure your shooting will improve.

I think you are doing well of a tripod. A pair of quad sticks will dramatically change your shooting. It supports rifle in front and back and takes out that wobble. I like 4 stable sticks. There are few different options.

I just finished putting a new roof on my house.
I said I was through spending money for a while.
There you go dangling temptation in front of me.
I already have a couple of sets of shooting sticks.
I’ve been wanting to try some quad sticks.
If I get soft in the head and step up from a 375 to a bigger gun, quad sticks may be the better way to go for zeroing a hard kicking gun.

I use something very similar to this bag. The top hugs/grips the fore end of the rifle, reducing the felt recoil drastically, without putting too or any stress on the stock. I've sighted in my 416 Rigby and 416 Rem without any issues, or discomfort from shooting from the bench.

The yoke on the bogpod tripod rest swivels if I’m not mistaken, mine does. It’s not the same as good old fashioned crossed and taped/bound together sticks to form a tripod and most certainly not the same as the quad stick options.
That said a 2.1 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards off a bogpod with a 9.3x74 is dang good shooting! Keep doing what you’re doing and extend the distance in 25 yard increments trying your best to maintain current group size, or thereabouts.
What’s the rifle capable of off the bench on sandbags for 5 shots?
I think there’s some creative liberty exercised when people talk about their own shooting off the sticks. The type of sticks makes some difference.

Get a pair of quad sticks such as viperflex or blaser!
Great for setting up quickly for quick shots for both hunting solo back home or with a guide in Africa and arguably offer more stability than a bog grip and easier to adjust and follow a moving animal over uneven ground whilst waiting for it to stop and offer a shot. And they also double as a bino rest for added stability whilst glassing!

Rest the rifle n the exact same place every time. For a scoped rifle I use the front of the scope as my mark. For a bolt gun use your non firing hand to grasp the tripod right around the base of the rest. If you feel the need you can take your index finger and put it over the top of the barrel, but it’s not really needed. If I’m shooting a double off sticks I grab the forearm with my entire hand and rest my hand on the stick’s rest. With your shooting hand wrapped around the rifles comb pull it securely into your shoulder. Lean into the shooting sticks. When you are ready to shoot move your trigger finger onto the trigger and pull (don’t squeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeee, that’s for bench rest shooting). Have fun. Don’t over think it.

I have found that I’m much more stable when using V sticks or tripod style sticks if I square my stance with my feet perpendicular to the rifle. Feels unnatural as hell at first, but seems to act as another leg in the setup. Quad sticks, stand however is comfortable.

Viper flex shooting sticks, best quad sticks on the market….but a bit expensive. Much stiffer than other quad sticks, and more adjustable

The 22 trainer is a huge benefit. Also once I zeroed on the bench I never even checked groups off sticks, it was messing with me thinking I was making bad shots but once I used vital zone steel plates at distances expected it greatly shows your skill level to be good for hunting.

If money was zero consideration I’d still choose 4 stable sticks. Viper flex are good but too bulky for me. Gunstix are likely the most adjustable on market.

You are well inside minute of buffalo. Id be happy with that group and enjoy the confidence that it should give you. Keep practicing because it is fun but dont add doubt to yourself on the sticks. I use the Blasers because @Goose Cracker said they had "bad mojo" and sold them to me. Love them but I cant say they are better than anything else. Also, saw above the advice to wrap your finger around the top of the barrel. For me that pressure on the barrel was vexing my groups. I kept my finger off the barrel and groups improved. You are doing great! Keep it up. Also, never turn down the advice to spend more money on toys unless it hits your future trip budget. Never know which trip will be your last.

4Stablesticks are great. These targets are fine yesterday. First is 50 yards with my 450/400 second is 100 yards with my 375 and last is 100 yards with the 375 cycling the bolt getting back on target as fast as I can. The one low right missing the black in the last target was the last of the seven rounds.

I use a Browning Model 52 22 LR trainer shooting at a 4 inch steel to practice.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
