I bought a Savage Long Range Hunter for a friend of mine last season NIB from my LGS.
Great shooting rifle chambered in 260 Rem.
At the end of the season we noticed that the rubberized coating on the stock was starting to peel. Did not interfere with the function of the gun but it made the gun look like it had the start of a disease, ugly as hell! I sent an email to Savage with a few pictures of the gun and the box end asking if I could get a new stock. Turns out that this gun was new old stock from 2016! The lady that replied informed me that the particular stock was no longer made but she would send out the updated model to me. I provided my address to her and let her know I’d be happy to pay for the new stock and shipping. About a week later a new stock arrived at no charge!
I haven’t had any dealings with Savage before because I really don’t have many of there guns, maybe 5 or 6 max. All shoot incredibly well and I’ve never had a complaint with any of them besides the cosmetic appearance just doesn’t trip my trigger.
I thought I would throw this out on the forum to let yall know that they are a company that will stand behind their products.

My 1,000 Yard Qualification was with a stock factory Savage M10 6.5 Creedmoor. Bought the rifle new. Threw on a scope. Spent a few days working up a handload and qualified first attempt. Super accurate factory rifle at an affordable price. Same with my Savage M110 .338 Lapua. Thanks for the Customer Service Report!

I’ve owned two Savage rifles and both shot much better than I was capable of. I’d never had a reason to contact them for customer service, but I’m not surprised at your good experience.

It’s been several years since I’ve owned a savage… but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one tomorrow if the right deal came along…

Every one of them I’ve ever personally owned or have shot has been super accurate.. they’re super affordable… and I’ve never heard anything but great comments about their customer service…

Savage Customer Service is great to deal with.

The very first Savage rifle I owned was a 110S Silhouette in 308. This was in the mid 1980's and I wasn't exactly rich back then. A little Lee hand loading kit, and that rifle would shoot .25 moa groups all day!

I talked to Savage Customer Service about building a 114 European Classic, which is a discontinued item, and the answer was "Sure, we can do that".

I was able to specify stock style, caliber, barrel length, metal finish, magazine type, sights, etc. My new rifle will look like this, and should be ready in a few weeks.

Savage is a fantastic Company to deal with, and the rifles they produce will outshoot anything even remotely close to their price range.

Savage always had a good reputation and stood behind all aspects of their products. I have one myself and it is my most "productive" rifle. The overwhelming number of my trophies were taken with my Savage.

I own two savage rifles. I had a small
Problem with a spring or washer or some small part. They sent several free of charge and I was able to do the repair at home. Easy and outstanding customer service-both very accurate rifles

That is going to be a nice looking rifle and hope you will post some pics and let us know how it shoots!
My first hunting rifle that I bought with my own hard earned money was a Weatherby Mark V chambered in 7mm Weatherby, it was the most beautiful rifle I had ever seen and turned out to be the biggest turd ever! Three trips back to the gun store so they could send it to Weatherby and it still wouldn’t shoot! Dad finally got tired of helping me try to sort it out and hauled me and that rifle to Missoula and traded it on a Savage 110E 7RM and a Springfield Armory Government Model, a sling and ammo for both of them. I was not enamored with the rifle, the stock looked as if it were carved from the finest 4x4 that could be sourced at the lumber yard, the barrel nut, so hideous you couldn’t stop looking at it with pity like a disfigured person and all topped off with a bushnell straight 4X scope. But, I loved the 1911! My first trip to the bench with that rifle was with 175 gr corelokt, I looked around carefully to make sure the firearm fashion police weren’t waiting to apprehend me and that other kids weren’t around to make fun of the fat kid with the ugly rifle, settled onto my POS bench with my burlap feed bag makeshift sand bags and shot a few rounds at 25 yards to zero the scope. The first three rounds at 100 yards (or 100 long steps of a 13 year old boy) produced a cluster of holes 1-1/2” high above the bull with all holes touching. I was a happy kid. I made it through my young years killing elk, deer and bear with that rifle, it was also my varmint gun loaded with 100gr sierra HPs. It worked well, just wasn’t pretty, just like the neighbor girl down the road and the 1972 Delta 88 4 door I had to drive for awhile! Still have that rifle and when no one is around and the moon is dark I occasionally pull it out and remember all the adventures we had been on. After therapy I finally got over the Delta 88!

My absolutely most accurate rifle was a Savage 110 varmint single shot in 223. With my hand loads it would do well under 1/4" 3 shot groups.
It was difficult to do a group measurement. 2 shots would go in a 25 caliber hole

Same experience with Savage Customer Service.
On my rifle the cerakote flaked off when I pulled the Savage sticker off.
Called them up and they sent a new stock at no charge, told me to keep the old one.

I like savage, never had a problem with them, but they where mainly M99 & m 116
I think my only issue is with the new trigger system on my m11 6.5cm predator

If it'll help you out, I'll give ya fifty bucks for it? :D

The Savage range of rifles may not be the prettiest rifles but man oh man they can shoot straight out of the box. Good they have such a good backup service.
I had the same experience with Lee reloading presses, excellent service.

@Schüler Jumbo
I remember a famous shooter went to the Savage factory and picked one if their F class rifles in 6.5-284 off the production line.
He mounted a scope on it took it to the range and proceeded to shoot a world record group. Something along the lines of 4" at 1,000 yards.
Pretty darn good with an untuned rifle straight from the production line. What's not to like.

The Stevens 200 (aka Savage 100 budget model) I bought in 270 for a bargain basement price was super accurate, sub moa even at 200 yds. Converted it to 35 Whelen and still just as accurate.
My mate Greg bought the same rifle in 223 and that $300aud is a gent half moa rifle. He loves it.
Unfortunately I missed out on one in 25-06 that I would have loved

The beauty of Savage is innovation.
From memory they were the first company to offer left handed actions to custom rifle builders and left hand rifles.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
