I've been dreaming about that silver Catalina, not with lipstick on or anything but what a gorgeous animal it is! And that black one is a stroker!

This gives an idea of the majority of the terrain the sheep hunting is done on.

The the hunt is conducted via spot and stalk or can be done in very nice insulated blinds if one so chooses.

Here is my collection of exotic sheep (from preserves in Michigan). They don't have the nice curls that the one's on the Rockin G have. Not exactly the "Einsteins" of the exotics, I hunted mine with handguns to make it more challenging....suppose you could do the same with bow or muzzleloader. My Black Hawaiian was taken with a .44 magnum revolver; the other two were taken with a .357 magnum.
Only critter (to date) that I have been attacked by was one of those 4 horn Jacobsen's sheep......we were pursuing the black hawaiian and there were a couple in the herd that was moving around the preserve. Apparently, one got tired of being "chased", turned around, and head butted me in the thigh......TWICE!!! When the SOB came at me a third time, I smacked it on the head with the butt of my rifle; it sent out a sickening crack!, but all he did was stop, shake his head a bit, then turn and walk away.....apparently no worse for wear.

Lol, that's pretty funny there Mr. 16. Much of the challenge comes from how the hunt is done. My place is extremely rough with a lot of cover. Also, the animals are as wild as can be. Many are on the ranch for years before they are taken. Unfortunately some outfitters will buy someone's pet and call it a hunt. Not me. It's like any other type of exotic hunting. There is good places and bad places.
I agree they are dumb as a sack of hammers but can be extremely challenging to hunt if done properly.
As far as alternative weapons go, I am mainly a bow hunter. For much of the same reasons many others bow hunt. It is much more challenging.

Mr.16 lol, I promise there are no worries with smakin the sheep on the head. Their heads are hard as iron. You could have hit it with a lead pipe and not done any damage. I used to breed them at my house to get the quality I wanted as well as an attempt to keep cost down. I gave up on the whole thing after about a year. They completely destroyed every fence, barn, and building the were anywhere near. I got tired of getting nailed by them and so did my wife and kids. I said to hell with it, and got rid of all my ewes. The Rams went to the ranch and I'm still fixing crap they tore up. That was about 3 years ago.

Yeah, I know...........African trophies are now in my office, along with my mule deer and pronghorn. Ran out of space, as wife has declared the entire house "hers"......she talks about 'downsizing'. What that means is I have to get rid of my stuff, and then she buys more crap to take it's place.
I get the basement............well, some of it, anyway.

Nice trophies Mr 16. I especially like your choice of weapons on those sheep hunts.
BTW.............I hope your wife's definition of "downsizing" doesn't imply anything ominous for you.
Thanks for the photos..................FWB

Hi Bob, how's things going in Wyong?. Down your way a couple of years back but haven't been in NSW since Ebor for the fishing. just getting over some nasty storms up here in Qld, seeing the sun for the first time in a few days. I'm going to NZ in the spring and hope to clean up a few buns while there and perhaps shake the spiders out of my old .303LE (currently owned by my BIL). Cheers Brian
