Road Trip

In the trenches it was often not possible to look over the top as the enemy snipers were very effective in killing so many who tried and in both Gollipoli and on the western front as the war was bogged down with the rwo forces often only yards apart the trench rifle was adapted by having the rifle being sighted via the mirror on the rear of the upright.

There was a good display of the signaling equipment of both the British and German forces

I'm a history buff as well. WWI was a perfect example of "modern" weapons and yesterday's tactics. Result, carnage on all sides.

I didn't get many pics of our forces in the second world war and the ones of the placards in the medal room are not up to being read so there is ju7st the one pic of Captain Charles Upham, our most decorated soldier with a Victoria Cross and bar plus a chest full of other medals that showed the times when his extreme competence and bravery were recognised.

Garry............great and interesting stuff. I'm a bit of a military history buff myself. I was wondering, is Keith Park well known and taught to school kids in NZ? Probably one of the greatest, if not the greatest, military figures from NZ.

He is known by many in my generation Dave, but the young ones dont know anything about the Battle of Britian and certaily not Sir Kieth Parks although there was a bit on the TV when his statue was put up
Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Rodney Park, GCB, KBE, MC & Bar, DFC was a New Zealand soldier, First World War flying ace and Second World War Royal Air Force commander. He was in operational command during two of the most significant air battles in the European theatre in the Second World War, helping to win the Battle of Britain and the Battle of Malta. In Germany, he was supposedly known as "the Defender of London".

For thse who dont know (of) him this is the online write-up

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
