Recommended dangerous game bullets and cartridges?

That is thinner than the jacket of the Woodleigh Weldcore soft nose bullets as well as that of my old Hornady Interbond RN bullets.
I am sure you mean “interlock”

You have it wrong…and it confuse others…The old Hornady DG SP RN bullets were not interbonds but just interlocks. The interbonds were a different bullet…quite good but expensive to make for the smaller calibers…so Hornady started to fase it out and went in big time with the ELD-X’s snd CX’s…The new DGX is a bonded bullet that will have total different results on a buffalo than a interlock….penetration will be much deeper and retention much higher…

What was meant by my first post was the difference between the SP bullets that are bonded and the older models that are not. I used both types of bullets without noticing a big difference in the working and the remaining weight of the bullet after impact and penetration. I have also used premium bonded bullets to shot buffaloes, including the Swift A-Frame and the Barnes TSX, otherwise I could not say anything about their working compared to other bullets.

As for the Hawk bullets, some say they are clones of the old Barnes bullets. In this case they have the same jacket thickness as that of the Hornady bullets. Woodleigh and especially Degol make classic SP RN bullets with thick jackets.

Glad to hear that there is a shipment of premium bullets that have arrived in the USA, otherwise it would appear that a lot of people would just quit hunting. I liked the analogy of there is a reason Baskin&Robbins has 31 flavors.

I used Federal ammo successfully. They had 300 gr ammo with Swift A-frames and Hydroshock bullets. I saw the effectiveness of the Barnes and intend to use them next time. The problem with dangerous game ammo is availability. Fortunately, there are many selections from which to choose and all are good. Don't get stuck on brand, look for their performance.

Woodleigh of Australia is highly recommended by Pros-n-de-Know. Unfortunately, per online reports, his production facility burned down and thus his return to market is uncertain. Their former line of .30-cal (.308) projectiles was awesome based on my experience.

Woodleigh are up and running again. It will take time to get all calibres and weights restocked around the world. Hydro's are made in a different location and were not affected.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
