Rechambering of Rifle Actions?

I have the reamer if someone wants to build one.

I reckon my 400 Lee Speed would have to be up there in the4 fun gun stakes. The 405 win case shortened by .02 and loaded with 320gn cast bullet.
I have loads up over 2000fps but generally for fun shooting I run it in the 1650 range over blue dot.

@Von Gruff
Looks like you used the same mag conversion I did to get my SMLE NO4 ACTION to feed the 444 marlin round. Did you have to alter the ejector screw to get tired to eject as well?

No. I bought a short chambered 405 win barrel and lengthened the chamber ( carefully a couple of liught turns at a time and check) to suit my case length, filed in the extractor claw recess and it was good to go.

Great minds think alike I did the same thing with my extractor and mag 12 years ago but had ejection issues. This was solved by removing the ejector screw drilling it out to 4mm and tapping a 5mm thread in it. Screwing in a grade 8 5mm grub screw in until it jammed the bolt then backing it off until the bolt functions smoothly. Fed and ejected like a new born baby.

Maybe I’m not using the correct terminology here? But I have read quite a bit here on AH regarding the rechambering of rifles, typically to a larger caliber or a different cartridge of the same caliber. I’ve read about chamber reamers , but how does this work with a new barrel and the entire process? I see many of rechambered/rebored rifles for sale so just asking? Thanks!
Let's go for part said Jack the ripper ...
Recaining the barrel of a rifle, to move to the same caliber and different cartridge length, requires unlocking the barrel of the action, using the rearmers corresponding to the new cartridge to make the new chamber. If necessary, the face of the bolt is faced to accept the culote of the new pod. Next step you rejoin the barrel-action and try the go-no go calipers for it to give it the correct headspace. Completed work.
In the case of making a custom rifle, starting for example from a Mauser action, first the corresponding thread is made in the barrel to accept the action. Next step, the barrel is turned to the chosen contour. The barrel is then re-casted to match the chosen cartridge corresponding to the caliber of the barrel. If necessary, face the bolt. Using the corresponding rearmers, there are usually three. Once the chamber is done, the action is screwed onto the barrel, and using the go-no go gauges, the corresponding head space is given. If everything is well disassembled, the metal parts are polished and blued ...

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
