I have a Ruger M77 RS 458 with a Lyman flip up rear sight insert on it. One of the little adjustment screws on it got sheared off by the previous owner. I took the sight insert off of the base last night to measure for a new one but I honestly don’t like the sight. I’d prefer just a single v-notch. I looked online and couldn’t find anything that had a 3/8” dovetail so I could use the sight base on the barrel.

I found a sight base on NECG’s website but the largest one they have is for a barrel .930” in diameter and my barrel measures 1.030”.

Any suggestions or opinions on upgrading to a better rear sight than the flip up and down sight that’s on it will be greatly appreciated.

Agreed, I suspect NECG would make one for you.

I ended up just ordering a NECG sight from midway with one fixed blade and one flip up blade. I like the idea of being able to replace the sight insert if ever needed (doubt I’d ever need to). I’m going to have to fit the base to the barrel. I’m thinking I can probably lay some sandpaper on the barrel and sand the base to fit the contour. Worst case scenario I can sneak it into work and throw it in the milling machine.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
