I have not seen these rifles or Q discussed yet on this forum, I am sure many of you saw their booths at DSC and SCI this year.
Much of the testing on this rifle and 8.6 Blackout has been with Crusader Safaris in SA
Let me know if you guys have any questions, I am happy to help

Q LLC sets a new standard for precision rifles with the FIX. This high performance firearm is much more than just a modified Rem 700. The FIX is the world’s first “utility rifle” and excels at any long range application from hunting, to PRS shooting, to tactical purposes. Many aspects of the FIX are reminiscent of AR platforms, notably in the ambidextrous selector switch and magazine release which are located in the same places as on an AR. The grip is AR-style as well giving the FIX familiar ergonomics, and the magazine is SR-25 compatible – the same used by the AR10. Together, these similarities create a better shooting experience for someone already acquainted with an AR pattern rifle. The FIX is built around a lightweight, monolithic, one-piece aluminum receiver which is exceptionally rigid. Unlike chassis rifles where the bolt locks into a heavy steel receiver, the FIX’s bolt locks into the barrel, another aspect the FIX shares with AR platforms. This provides barrel interchangeability at the user level, allowing the operator to exchange calibers and barrel lengths without the need for a gunsmith. The modular nature of the FIX also allows components such as the stock, bolt, or handguard to be interchanged as well. To make exchanging parts or cleaning the weapon effortless, the FIX exclusively uses T-25 screws, so only one wrench is necessary to disassemble the weapon.

Other features of the FIX include an innovative stock and bolt design. The stock is 100% adjustable, allowing the user to finely tune length of pull, cheek height, and even the position of the butt plate to their preferences. The stock is also foldable for a convenient storage/transportation option. The stock’s hinge was overbuilt to ensure a solid lockup every time, and prevent the “rattling” found on folding stocks of a lesser quality. The FIX’s bolt was engineered for speed, unlocking with a 45° bolt throw which is about half the distance of a Rem 700 bolt. This makes clearing the weapon, cycling the bolt, and follow up shots lightning fast, and ensures the bolt handle clears the ocular bell of virtually any riflescope. In addition, the FIX is outfitted with an exceptionally crisp, two-stage trigger for supreme accuracy.

Features of the FIX:

  • AR-Style Controls & Ergonomics
  • SR-25 (AR10 pattern) magazine compatible
  • Lightweight, monolithic, one-piece aluminum receiver
  • Interchangeable barrels, stocks, bolts, & handguards
  • Uses T-25 screws – only one wrench needed for disassembly
  • 100% adjustable, folding stock
  • 45° bolt throw
  • Crisp, two-stage trigger
Offered in 8.6 blk, 6.5 cm, .308 win, 300 blk, 5.56, 6mm arc. New models currently in testing for LA calibers - 7mm prc, 300 win mag, 9.3x62.

These guys are a relative newcomer on the market, IMO they are driving innovation in this industry.
They are definitely a distinctive breakaway from the traditional hunting rifle.

I personally own one of these rifles & their suppressor ( 12" 8.6 blackout ) Overall, I am very happy with it. Most of its use for me is as a general purpose hunting rifle here in the northeast, If i do not know what the day holds ; I grab it and a magazine of 210 TSX supersonic & a magazine of 342 gr subsonic expanders from Gorilla Munitions.
I've taken several whitetail and a black bear with it.
The rifle is lightweight, extremely compact and portable. The folding stock is a huge deal to me, It rides on my chest in and out of vehicles and is quick and safe to load and unload. I mainly spot and stalk with this rifle, But have used it on a few "Drives" with great success.
8.6 blackout was designed around suppressor use, it is essentially a big brother to 300 blackout. Parent case is a 6.5 cm using heavy .338 projectiles. Thru a suppressor it is whisper quiet and my favorite tool for doe culling, Supers behave a lot like a 338 federal.

I will continue testing the rifle, But so far I am very happy with its overall performance on thin skinned NA game and its overall packability.

Thanks for reading!- Jake

They were discussed once. It wasn’t positive. This is generally a more traditional crowd.

I figured, Based on the feedback on the new sako yesterday.. Lol

I have never been able to handle one because it is not imported to Europe if I'm correct. I saw in the past several videos showing the effectiveness of the 8.6 Blackout, and its very fast twist rate, but I will be curious to try it in real.
The first thing I noticed when I saw this rifle was its bolt. The rear part looks like a lot to the one made by Merkel for the KR1 in the past, but the front is different of course.

They didn’t make it .375 caliber.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
