I just find the entire project to be interesting. But I could not image actually hunting with it.

Where would it be legal to hunt with this behemoth? It would be illegal anywhere in the US; I'm pretty sure anywhere in North America for that matter. This looks like one of those "because I want one" type of projects, not one to be put into use the way the originals where some 100+ years ago. It is a kinda interesting project...

I don’t know what I’d do with one. But I know I want one of those.

I could probably have it loaded in each barrel with eight ounces of AAA and then mounted on a Department Of Forests patrol boat in order to serve as a deterrent against dynamite fishermen.

I believe you can still use punt guns up to 1.75 inches in bore diameter in the UK in at least some circumstances. I don’t know about the legality of a double barreled version.

I'm afraid I dont have any better photos but I was lucky enough to hunt with my grandfathers black powder punt gun about 10 years ago in the UK (northern Ireland). Newspaper wadding and a mug of shot (held in the cartridge with more newspaper and melted crayola's), and a .22lr blank as a primer. A long and freezing night - not the last time i hope!

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
