my `64 has a 26" barrel as it should have.
I always thought it was the 9x57 that was referred to concerning the pre 64Breath some life into this old thread with something interesting I found on Pre64.com.

Funny it doesn’t mention which 9M/M?
Agreed!…. However, notice the article mentions .300win as a catalogue caliber but not .300H&H?9x57 is correct.
My 300 H&H is also marked 300 Magnum.Agreed!…. However, notice the article mentions .300win as a catalogue caliber but not .300H&H?
.300win didn’t come out until 1963; I personally used to own a .300H&H Supergrade and the barrel stamping was “.300 Magnum”

The next time I’m in San Antonio; we are going to take the stock off the 9.3x64 rifle and see what the factory bore diameter stamping is on the barrel.
My 1948 Super Grade is marked 300 Magnum as well. The gun store it was at had it marked 300 Win Mag. That's why I got such a good deal. They thought it was a rebarrel. lolMy 300 H&H is also marked 300 Magnum.
