I picked up a nice 375 H&H built on a pre-64 win action. Seller said it was built by Frank Wells but I knew that was not the case. The marking says Frank’s Custom Rifles Tucson, AZ. Any Wells gun I could find an example of was engraved specifically “Frank Wells”. Just curious on if anyone knows anything about Frank’s custom rifles? Overall it’s a nice rifle, functions flawlessly and action is very smooth.

Couple of listings. Looks like it hasn't been an active concern for a while. As you surmised, a separate entity from Frank Wells. I have a similar mystery rifle in .338. Best to judge such a rifle as it is. This one looks to be well made with all the correct bells and whistles.

...In 1987 I had Frank Wells build me a .416 Taylor. The marking was the same as you describe on the .375 H&H you acquired. If the .375 H&H is as accurate as the rifle Wells built for me, you have a "keeper."

You still have it? I am either looking at it or it's twin on GB right now.

Hi PaulB. Would you be interested in another WJ Jeffery .450/.400 NE 3". It's an extractor model and in superb condition, cased as well. Made in 1908. The rifle is here in Texas.
