Nancy Pelosi, stated that the Dems are going to win the Whitehouse, Senate, and house.

Somebody, has been spending a little too much time in the bottom of a Vodka bottle.

I know our American friends are preoccupied (justifiably so) with their Presidential election. However I thought you might find it instructive to hear this morning's news from Melbourne Australia.

The Victoria Police have announced they will be deploying surveillance drones over the suburbs this weekend. The reason: to catch people breaching covid 19 lockdown rules by hosting BBQs with friends or family to watch the football grand final on TV. Police raids and multi-thousand dollar fines will follow.

This is the type of police state response you get when 'progressive' socialist parties get elected. Something for you to consider as you head into your own election.
Shoot down the drones.

It's a sad thing but I am actually a little bit worried about this upcoming election.

Here in Colorado we just might end up with 2 Democrats in the Senate and the possibility of loosing a couple of House seats to them also. From what I have seen Kelly just might pull it off in Arizona, and while I don't agree with what is happening I think that Biden does have a chance to take Trump out.

So with what I am seeing the Democrats could take a slim majority in the Senate and hold the House.

I don't like it but some Republicans have cut their own throats and Gardner here in Colorado is one of them

I think that many of us are hoping that level headed Democrats and independents, have noticed what a radical clown show the Democrat party has become, and vote accordingly. The one glaringly negative aspect, is that many voters are programmed to hate Trump, and to vote for anyone with a (D) next to their name, even if it's Satan himself. They are oblivious to the consequences.

Exactly correct.

I suppose that I was one of those until Regan. I was almost one again under Bush the younger. Our family history is replete with destruction. The original home place in the South Carolina Piedmont was burned by Banastre Tarleton's Loyalist cavalry during the Revolution. Pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and loyal to Jefferson's concept of Democracy, they had rebuilt their lives by the 1850's. They voted against Lincoln and served in gray. One died leading a brigade at Gettysburg and another walked 750 miles home from a Great Lakes prison camp. They came home to find those homes and homesteads looted and burned to the ground by Sherman. By the 1920's the next generation had rebuilt their families and their lives. Obviously, they were still loyal democrats. One grandfather was a state legislator and attorney, the other a carpenter. In '29 their world collapsed again. The home places were sold rather than burned, but my maternal grandfather's family was broken up as his practice collapsed, and the other survived from day to day for a decade. FDR brought them hope.

My father, a well respected southern historian, was one of those FDR democrats. He served his country in combat in the China Burma Theater. He strongly supported JFK, and with reservations supported Johnson. He despised Nixon. I am glad he did not live long enough to have the crisis of conscience that Clinton would have caused him. He hated socialism, believed in this country, and thought of Republicans as a country club clique. He would have despised liberal constructions such as the 1619 project.

Such democrats are still out there. My brother is one. Biden was nominated for the sole purpose of keeping them in the fold through this election. There is nothing about the democrat base that will tie them to that party in the future.

Everyone has a story. It is always interesting learning family histories. Those of us with ties to the Confederacy share a history that many American's don't completely understand. ie: being called a Yankee is much more of an insult than being called a peckerwood, coonass or cracker.

Our family history in this land starts in 1620. Ancestors fought in every war starting at Lexington Green up to a brother n law's service in Korea, including both sides of the War between the States. My father was in the 3rd Army. On VJ day he was in Nuremburg with orders to the Pacific Theater. There is a chance this post wouldn't be made if not for an atomic bomb.

It doesn't seem our family is officer material although I have heard that Joe Wheeler was a relative if not a direct ancestor.

My parents are the ones who made the switch from southern Democrat to Republican. Like you I felt the Republican party leaving me during the Bush II years. The party of McCain, Romney, McConnell, Boehner, Ryan was not my Republican party. Trump is certainly not a Republican in any traditional sense of the word, yet he has delivered more than any President in my lifetime for the country and the ordinary man. Four years ago I wasn't big on Trump. I also didn't realize how close to the precipice the Republic stood. Trump is an imperfect man, yet he identified the problem and has stood in the breach for all of us. He needs four more years to finish turning the ship. Democrat or Republican, It is our turn to stand in the breach for him.

It's amazing how hypnotic a political affiliation can be when the party represents ideals not reflected in the current crop of representatives. I voted for our Conservative -turned socialist- government here in Ontario. They are totally out of their depth, and oozing incompetence. Yet, despite the clown cluster F@#% they are, I will vote for them again! The "party" stands for my beliefs even if the current brass does not. What's a fella to do?

I saw this story today and didn't realize how bad the travel crackdown was in Australia. Letting babies die due to travel restrictions is something I wouldn't have expected in Australia.

I was also surprised that Adelaide didn't have the ability to perform the surgery.

I haven't paid close attention to Gardner. What has he done to cut his own throat.

In Presidential elections, the candidate tends to pull the down ticket upwards. In your case I agree that Gardner may have a problem. Conversely, McSally may get to ride the coattails back to capitol hill.

Honestly Judge, I thought it was a goose; otherwise I wouldn't have spent a $5 10 ga no-tox shotshell shooting it down.

Gardner essentially ignored the folks here in Colorado for a long time. He would miss town halls and other events where he was suppose to take questions. I saw the writing on the wall 2 or 3 years ago with what he wasn't doing. That and Hickenlooper was a popular Governor here in the state even if he flipped around on just about everything. Colorado is more blue than red so I expect to see Hick get in.

The way that I look at McSally is that she didn't get it done the first time around when she was running against Sinema and had to be appointed by the Governor to to get into the Senate. Perhaps she will make it because she is the incumbent, but who knows until 11/4 after the election.

Thanks for helping me understand the Gardner situation better.

With regard to the DemonRats hijacking the Democrats- Ronald Reagan was a longtime Democrat- he was the president of the Actors guild (aka union) and by any stretch a classic liberal. but when asked why he was supporting the Republican party he replied that He hadn't left the Democrat party, the Democrat party left him. and this is true for millions of Democrats. they believe that the government should be there for the benefit of the citizens. But benefiting the citizens is not seen as including the recent "woke" behaviors and move toward a totalitarian state with the disregard by authorities of the Constitution. The MSM doesn't broadcast these things so to the casual observer and to those seeing things from the viewpoint of lifelong Democrats, everything that is wrong is being blamed on President Trump. So as noted the worst thing that could happen to the Democrat party would be for them to gain complete control of the three branches of government because they will not be able to handle success and with their actions they will convince even the most die-hard Democrat that their party has left them.

Unfortunately, I think Gardner is on his way out. He’ll get a vast majority of votes here in El Paso County (Colorado Springs), but he can’t compete with the Democrats voting in Denver and surrounding hoods. Wasn’t too long ago that Colorado was mostly Republican, but then Hickenlooper brought in all the technology jobs and all these liberal a******* from California, Washington and elsewhere came here and continue to vote the same way as what destroyed their states. Imagine that?

These Democrats have been Democrats their entire lives and want to continue to be Democrats. Democrats that don't understand what has happened to their party. Democrats that may vote conservative occasionally, but will never register as a Republican. These are the ones that the current Democrat party has completely abandoned.

These are the good solid Democrats of which I refer.
I apologize for my generalization. I was referring to democrat politicians and more specifically those dems elected to the House, Senate, many more occupying City Halls and Governor's mansions all over this Republic.. They are the feckless cowards and pandering fools I was referring to.

The moderate democrats that you describe are certainly caught between a rock and a hard place in this current political environment. I am sure that there are many who are uncomfortable, if not outright angry with the fact that the radicals have hijacked the party. I would actually have empathy for them if it were not for the fact they these are also the same democrat voters that continue to elect the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler, Schiff, Watters, Leahy, Klobuchar, Blumenthal, Coons, Hirono, Sanders, Booker, Harris, Cuomo, Northam, Whitmer, etc., and the list goes on and on... These are not the "squad of 4 idiots".. These are the franchise names and faces who keep me from taking the democratic party of today seriously...

If these types of politicians do not represent the interests of the majority of the democratic constituency that you elude to, then why do they continue to get re-elected term after term? If moderate dem voters still make up the majority of the party, then why are the franchise swampers continuing to take the party father left than at any point in history? Why has Biden transformed from a moderate (which I truly believed him to be 40 years ago) to a pandering idiot that will do or say anything on any given day to appease the radical left if they do not constitute the true base of the party? I do feel bad for those of you who have not lost your collective minds, and still embrace the core values and founding principles of this country. However, I think there far fewer of your moderates in existence than you think which is sad for all of us...

Which one is the monkey?

I realize it's hard to tell... I actually think the monkey made the best points. However, after watching again, I believe the monkey may be a liberal too. Ever notice how monkeys are always taking things that don't belong to them?

Texas used to be a Democrat state, yes it had a few republicans. Those democrats where either Conservative or Liberal. The Conservatives left the Democrat party and became Republicans. The only conservative Democrats left are in very rural areas and the Yellow dogs among them are very few.

I suspect after this election, there will be no conservative Democrats left in Texas, they are being run out by the progressives.

No problem. (y)

In my neck of the woods, a state where no county voted for Obama in 2012, there are still a number of conservative Democrats dealing with cognitive dissonance. Perhaps 20-25% of the Democrat party.

It doesn't take many Democrats like them, to swing an election. A 5% switch in 10 states can change a Biden victory to a Trump landslide with 330+ EV's.
