Please do not lecture me on Islamic Extremist. Your experience in the region the last 30 years does not match the bravado posted on an Internet forum.
I didn't lecture shit.
I just told you how it is.
Get over it.

Personally, I'd like to see the Ft.Hood shooter strung up from a tree, and let all the family members of the slain beat him like a pinata.
Host it on Pay per view.

As usual, Trump is crawling up Putin's ass.

Seems he is now actively protecting putins refineries and oil infrastructure.....un fkn believable

Ironic, that there have been so many civilian mass casualties in wars over the years, yet there are ex military people decrying the public execution of a radical Islamic psychopath mass murderer.
Strange.

Trump the Uniter.............

Oct 11 (Reuters) - Republican and Democratic US senators called on President Donald Trump on Sunday to "reverse course" on his diesel supply deal with Russia, saying it runs counter to US law barring imports of energy until Russia ends its aggression against Ukraine.
"Congress explicitly banned Russian energy imports in 2022 to prevent American dollars from ‌financing (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine," the seven senators - four of Trump's fellow Republicans and three Democrats - said in a statement.
I do not understand the President's unrelenting desire to make a fool of himself with respect to Ukraine and Russia. Yes, he and the Russian Bots have somehow managed to convince what must be some of the most ignorant and misinformed people on the planet - all of whom voted for Trump - that Ukraine started the war, Zelenski - not Putin - should be removed from office, and Ukraine should be punished for striking the Russian oil industry while Russia hits Ukrainian power infrastructure nightly (along with a high rise or two).

At an October 9/10 high level meeting between US (including Witkoff and Kushner), EU, and Ukrainian officials, the US pressured Kyiv to end strikes on Russian petroleum infrastructure because the attacks were driving up global and more importantly, US domestic fuel prices (as if the attack on Iran has had no effect?). During the meeting, the US team announced the diesel fuel deal with Putin which of course provides him a hard currency lifeline. The US delegation further threatened to withhold intelligence sharing and weapon sales through the EU to Ukraine.

To the everlasting credit of both Ukraine and Europe, Kyrylo Budanov, former head of Ukrainian intelligence and a leading figure in the negotiations responded to the threat by vowing, "Now we're going to fucking burn every Russian oil refinery and port to the fucking ground. Every last one!"

Meanwhile, except for that unquestioning loyal and staggeringly ignorant 35%, our international interests and foreign policy strategy has become incomprehensible to anyone.

And what was this ridiculous 2am post on Truth Social where Trump announced he had brokered an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine? Russia struck Ukrainian infrastructure targets within an hour of the post, and both Kyiv and Moscow announced they had no idea of any ceasefire. Someone needs to put his phone in a lockbox and only let him use it under supervision.

I don't think it is ironic at all that many former servicemen here, the vast majority of whom have had actual exposure to some of the uglier aspects of Middle East culture compared to someone like you who has none, conclude a reprehensible practice of some of the worst governments on the planet probably should not be replicated in this country.

Yes, right you are. I support Trump as the lesser of political evils but this action, like a lot of his others doesn't make sense. In fact, it is illogical. Really f-ing illogical!

Exactly right. I forced myself to vote for him because the alternative would have been catastrophic domestically. But there is very little in his handling of international relations which I believe is in the interests of this country.

You are telling people how it is based off never have seen it yourself. You are very disrespectful to many people on this forum because you disagree with something they have said, yet you have ZERO experience in the matter. Fox news is not the gold standard. While slightly entertaining at times your opinions are truly nothing more than stray voltage amongst adults discussing something in the room.

Well the “French students” that have been burning schools, shops & buss stops for weeks because of a lack of substitute teachers are now demanding 10Billion euros to stop the riots…..

Well ...I've dealt with guys like you before, and it's always the same banter, I've been there, you haven't ....blah ...blah...blah.
I guess everyone else is clueless as to world events, and the realities and atrocities of the middle east since our boots haven't been on the ground there.?
While slightly entertaining at times, your opinions are truly standing on the soap box material, to go along with some of the other so-called "adults" standing on the soap box in the room.
You say I'm disrespectful to many I disagree with, yet here you are being disrespectful to someone you disagree with
Hypocrisy much?

There are many people’s opinions who are incredibly valuable and respected on this thread. They have studied and worked in their respective fields for decades. They use facts, historics, predictive analysis, take into account second and third order effects. They are experts. They are professionals…not pundits.. They do not copy and paste a biased article they truly have no depth in. I love people who challenge me to see something a bit different. Also… I do not think you “dealt” with people like me before.

Consider my post as a challenge to see things a little differently.

Hey BigEasy, last try. I am serious about broadening horizons for better perspective. Many places around the world offer that opportunity. I pick the Philippines only because I’m familiar with it. Between easy, safe, predictable tourist, bucket list destinations and full culture immersion out in a rural “province” maybe a safe combo trip- discover a different culture AND learn a little world/US history at the same time.

Since you are an expert in geography I’ll skip the map- you mocked that help prior. Get to Manila. Take $75 easy, regional flight to either Tacloban or Ormoc in Leyte Province. Catch van, bus or taxi down to a Badjao village near Bato. I have a friend here, originally from Tacloban, who could provide more info if needed. The famous WW2 MacArthur landing site is just south of Tacloban. Surely you’re familiar with that, aren’t you? Also, you can see and study the area of the largest naval battle in history, the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Most think it was the Battle of Midway- wrong. Thinking perpetuated maybe because of the movie, hype and buzz. Visiting the Badjao village near Bato and learning their history will certainly be an eye opener, that’s a pinky finger hand shake, Tarheel assurance, I gaurontee! Anyway, last free recommendation. :)

Almost got stationed at Subic Bay on the USS Grayback. I had my choice out of C school of the USS Blueback, USS Seawolf or the USS Grayback. I ended up on the Seawolf or as the crew refered to her "Building 575" out of Mare Island, Ca. All are history now.

This guy has been about has tough on Democrats as Republicans all year. I would take this as a pretty bad sign leading into next month. Dems will be united voting "against Trump" regardless of the ridiculousness of their candidate. Meanwhile, Trump's fingerprints are all over several candidates that are currently failing mainly because the traditional republican base seems close to having had enough. They won't vote democrat - but they will stay home. It will make for a long two years of unrelenting investigations and impeachments.

I think few, if anyone, on here opposes the execution of that jihadist. And I'm not sure lethal injection is the way to go about it. Apparently not foolproof. The possible benefit of lethal injection would be that it's not quick for the person to be executed. A whole lot of prep involved. He gets to ponder what's next for quite a while. I think the gallows or guillotine inflict significant mental suffering. Imagine walking into the room with those gruesome instruments and having to climb the steps to them. And I'm okay with that. The condemned don't deserve a break from mental suffering. However, making a public spectacle of an execution is draconian and unnecessary. It brings America down to the same level as the terrorists. What's worse, the public execution will be immensely counterproductive. Becoming public martyrs is EXACTLY what these jihadists want. It's what this clown was praying for. He won't be standing at the stake blubbering like a baby. He will refuse the blindfold so he can look his executioners in the eye and shout his jihadist bullshit for all to see and hear. A whole lot of inspiration for future wannabe jihadist terrorists. Zero deterant value because these people don't respond to violence rationally. Just makes more of them. I'm not surprised Hegseth and Trump aren't smart enough to figure that out. Both of them combined don't have the IQ of lint and even less common sense.

Exactly. I can only hope enough Democrats make it to DC to wield the veto stamp and undo some of Trump's nonsense. At some point I cannot see how 25th Amendment can be ignored any longer. Put him in a rubber room where he belongs ... a long time ago! But Trump has surrounded himself with a crew of losers. Getting them to agree to removing their benefactor would be tough. They have the blinders screwed on pretty tight. Anyway, I'm not sure Vance would be much of an improvement. The one bright side would be he'd probably sack Hegseth overnight (they hate each other). Vance is also malleable ... to the point of being spineless. But he's still just another loudmouth self-serving dimwitted grandstander so not a huge improvement vs Trump.
