This is why our American forefathers in 1775 risk everything to fight a revolution against the most powerful empire in the world. The result after seven long years of armed conflict was 13 states of mostly British but also diverse European ethnicities spent the following six years to develop the US Constitution that defined how out three branches of government would operate.

Final states ratification of the Constitution was not until 1789. Even then, James Madison, with George Mason, Thomas Jefferson, and a group known now as the Anti-Federalists demanded restrictions on our new government. Those were written acknowledgements ratified by the 13 states as amendments to the US Constitution known as the “Bill of Rights” that the peoples’ rights were granted by God (or the Creator), not the government.

So, our esteemed and verbally eloquent member @mdwest can say and write that an ignorant slut is exactly that. God bless America!

I guess you have to be an American to understand the debacle such a blithering fool as Kamala would have created in our country. I see President Trump standing between myself and the Marxist Trash we have allowed to grow in America....he has given a "spine" to many Republicans that would never have spoken out otherwise. Older Americans, like myself, have watched Marxism grow on campuses through such organizations as Students for Democratic Society which spawned the Weather Underground.....vicious little assholes which over a ten year span carried out over twenty bombings. I've watched violence against law and order/police escalate through the Black Panthers, Black Lives Matter, George Floyd riots....seen countless businesses needlessly destroyed across our nation....for what? And very little accountability held for anyone's actions. American Culture is changing drastically, and now we have much support for the Democratic Socialists of America promoting and getting support for Medicare for All or Socialized Medicine....even with the failure of previous trial systems like Obama Care....and seeing what Socialized Medicine is doing to Canadians. Now we have a woman murdering her three little ones and much of American Culture is siding with (11) jurors who want to excuse her actions....and the one lone black juror who had the guts to stand up a fight for the dead children is cursed and vilified for his decision.

President Trump is no saint and I would prefer he had a little more "decorum". I'm sure you love Austria as much as I love my America......and Ontario Hunter loves Canada..........but many like myself, are through with being nice and pleasant about this "Culture Shift" in our country, and we support our President because he is the only one since Reagan that has been a fighter....a street fighter....Kamala is, and would have been, a complete and utter fool. I'll take my "shitty" president. But then, to paraphrase Mark Wahlberg in "Shooter"......."I'm just a peckerwood in the middle of nowhere with too many guns".

I don’t know why you would make any assumptions about how I raise my children since I am not even the one who referred to Harris as such. Not that I disagree with the sentiment very much.

If you are that interested, I will tell you plainly that I do not. I expect my children to be respectful of the offices of political leaders, if not the leader themselves. Not that it is any of your business.

That is neither here nor there. The question is whether jailing people for insulting politicians or anyone else constitutes freedom of speech and the answer is emphatically no. Now, being from a country that had to transition from fascism to democracy within living memory, I can see how you might be troubled. Anything seems freer than gestapo taking you away in the middle night but that’s not how we operate here in the US. The elected government is not our parent, they have no business or responsibility policing our speech outside of credible threats of violence. Whether Kamala Harris is called a whore or Ricarda Lang is called fat, nothing is harmed except for perhaps a politicians fragile ego. In fact, I think most of Ontario Hunter’s posts are nonsense but I would never want to see the day where he was arrested for insulting Trump. That’s his right and, if he truly believes what he’s saying, perhaps even his duty.

A potential problem to Trumps idea of having an export ban on diesel is where does the excess get stored. There may be options I am unaware of but that seems like a significant issue.
