What about Alex Pretti. I see you conveniently left him out. He was protecting a woman from being sprayed in the face with a chemical weapon for exercising her first amendment rights; by an ICE agent, who then disarmed him, before they executed him. I heard very little from the right regarding this disgusting conduct by ICE. But then again, you all disagreed with him politically, so no big deal right.

I saw plenty of right-wing talking heads make shit up about Alex Pretti to justify his execution, many facebook warriors claimed that he deserved it. The right doesn't really have a moral leg to stand on. Most political violence for the past 40 years has been from the right anyways.

Actions and words are different, don't conflate the two.

To paraphrase an old quote, "sophisticated people discuss ideas, unsophisticated people discuss political parties". The thing I really liked over the majority of the last 4000 pages is that mature people bring up a lot of ideas that get weak coverage in our media. Some of those ideas are not supported by either political party, occasionally they are supported by "the wrong party" whichever one a person of good conscience thinks that is.

Lately however, it has become a depressing place where its just like reading the party platform points of the DSA. In their totality, the DSA's platform is tailor-made to destroy everything that made the West glorious. The best that has ever been is never enough for a group of people that want to destroy the structures that have created this incredible country and its underpinnings.

I'd like to see an end of the line-for-line talking points of a fringe political party. I have democrats as friends, I have republicans as friends, I have libertarians as friends, I have globalists as friends, I have nationalists as friends, I have jews/sikhs/hindus/protestants/catholics/athiests as friends. I just don't want to associate myself with a human that seeks to destroy the West. It's gross.

Excluding London proper, every State in America is financially better-off than any place in the United Kingdom. This country is the best nation to have ever existed and the DSA talking points want to unravel all of these things in one way or another.

I stated before that it’s time for a world conflict that seems to rear up every hundred years or so. I was hoping history wouldn’t repeat itself but here we are. The left has been trying to erase history, for the purpose of repeating history, inject socialism now with communism to come shortly after. Unfortunately I honestly believe before my death, I will be forced to pickup a weapon to defend myself and my beliefs on my own land. I’m too old for military service but I won’t become a socialist or communist despite the direction my country is going.
If we don’t change the immigration policies in North America, I feel everyone on here will be, except a select few, be forced into action right here at home to defend your own rights and freedoms. I pray I’m wrong but I really don’t hold a lot of hope for a common sense approach to the future. Good luck all.

I had some crazy green wiener earth huger with a gun come up to my truck and ask me if I had thrown a cigarette butt out the window, I had no clue what he was up to, so I said “ask the guy in the back seat “ and roll down the window , and when he stuck his head in the window my dog bit him a couple times in the face pretty good ! Before i drove off , I don’t think crazy liberals should be brandishing a weapon be it a pistol or a skateboard, mental illness should exclude people from owning firearms.

For all of the complete bullshit BE spews, none of it crosses the line to break forum rules. Many can agree this site and specifically this thread, since that's the only place BE posts, would be better without the nonsense, but it's a free and open forum so I see no justification for being banned.

I'm guilty of engaging a few times, with the same result every time when I disprove the lies and I provide real facts. I believe having real discussions and considering other viewpoints is important (we should never assume our own beliefs and opinions are the only right view). However, when the other person in the discussion refuses to accept they too can be wrong, it's pointless to continue. So I hit the ignore button and am glad to have done it.

I encourage you all to do the same. Press ignore, the BS doesn't show up any more. If people stop seeing it and stop engaging, replies don't show up. Then BE either goes away, or posts for nobody to see.

I have mixed emotions about kicking people off all Willy nilly who post wonky stuff.
Or snarky comments. Opinions are like noses you can pick yours, but not theirs.
There is a kid who has intellectual disabilities , who post on this and other social platforms. Even though he is ridiculous imo he still has a voice ( after all we aren’t communists! ( at least most of us aren’t )

I think having a counterpoint is useful to dilute the larger acceptance like minded people can fall victim to. I haven’t involved myself because this isn’t a discussion, it positional.

Having a discussion is fun, but on a forum I think it requires mixing real-world experiences with the statistics everyone revels in. I find that just throwing around studies, or regurgitating clips from opinion pieces, news stories, etc is just advocating a position.
“Lies, dam lies and statistics”. There is no ability to get behind that data on a forum like you do in a courtroom. So it’s just positional statements peppered with insults to “score” a point. After a very short time it becomes tedious on a forum if you can’t reflect on the speaker’s real world experiences.

I learn so much from the life experiences you all have. I may not accept the conclusion you are drawing from it, but it is helpful to know when reading the morning paper. It makes one reflect on things. Thank you for that. It’s very cool how life takes us all in so many different directions, such that we view things from different vantage points.

Yeah I moved him and another person to ignore. It was kind of crazy I saw there were new posts in politics and the page was blank, just people I ignored talking to themself essentially (literally clicked show ignored content and 4 posts popped up from the same person). I dont think they should be banned they are following the rules so let them have at it. Also both have a victim mentality, so banning them just feeds that, no way they read it and go oh I was banned because I was being an ass, maybe I should work on that.

What's cool is someone I am ignoring can respond to this post and I will never see it.

I like engaging with people with different viewpoints, religions, cultures, but when someone just spews ignorance and I am not learning anything then I find it to be a waste of time.

Assuming the story is accurate, what did he do that had to be explained to a judge? It sounds like someone else stuck their face where it didn’t belong and suffered the consequences of that.

What did I do wrong? Guy had brandish a pistol and was freaking out at a stop light because I was smoking a cigarette, I had my own weapon, but in the USA you have appear to a grand jury when you shoot someone ( 1st lesson they teach in CC class) the guy violated the dogs personal space and got bit, hella lot better for him vs having some 10mm holes and me spending money on a lawyer and a visit to the grand jury. Or getting shot my self.
