He is not going to quit, he just enjoys himself too much with the discussion.

If you and many others just pressed the ignore button, this thread could become interesting again.

Just a suggestion :D Cheers:
Yeah. Nothing to see here, folks. Just move on. I just skip over it and go on to something intelligent.

I dont expect everyone to agree with me on my posts I dont always agree with Big Easy. I am happy he posts here. He is the fly in the ointment. If he wasn't here thr opposition to the common mind-set would be almost non existent.IMHO

True, but we didn’t have the violence we have today among teens.

I will share this, and it was shared with me by my preacher. I went to one of his Bible studies series on money and happiness. There are two things that stuck out to me.

The first being, what if you could be in the top 1%, how great would that be, would you be happy. He then said if you have 45k a year you are in the top 1% globally. The point being our idea of wealth and being wealthy is largely how we perceive it. Only we can determine our happiness.

The other point was he said he saw the future, and that he knew exactly how much money we wanted to make, he told everyone to write down a number and that he would tell them what that number was. After everyone wrote down a number he goes, that number you wrote down is more than you are making today. This was the basic issue, that people no matter how successful or unsuccessful always felt they needed more.

I have never looked at anyone with jealousy that had more than me, I know very successful people in my circle that are doing better than me, but I also know they dont get to walk out of meeting to go coach Tball with their kid, they arent there every night for dinner, and have made sacrifices that I don't envy to be in that position. We can all look at anything on paper say must be nice, but we dont know what they gave up.

I was on the partner pipeline for a Big 4 company and talking with another new partner, they were in debt from having to buy in and hadn't seen their kid in 2 weeks (they werent traveling for work, just spending that much time in the office). I left about a month later, terrible financial decision, but the amount of hugs I get everyday is priceless.

I will also say, I am thankful for the members in this site who are more successful than me, they have inspired me to try challenging hunts, given me priceless advice, and have opened hunting doors for me I would have never considered.

The world would be a better place if instead of seeing something on social media and saying I want that or that must be nice, they would say what could I learn from that person.

Too many weak minded kids these days that are influenced by violent video games and social media sources.
Those of us over 50 didn't have those things growing up, and we come from a generation of parents that (mostly)believed in discipline

Barclay's predicting the possibility of oil reaching $150 a barrel.!?!?

Wall Street drives me nuts. Everyone blames the oil companies and the war for these prices when it’s the emotional overreaction of analysts on Wall Street. Deal with them enough and you will quickly realize that they are not as smart as they portray themselves to be. There is no shortage and with the pipeline workarounds, the straight is no longer choking off 200% of supply.

Yes we did, we just beat the shit out of each other and went on our way.

We didnt have the mass shootings (to my knowledge). But I think fighting in the school yard, or outside of it, was a pressure release valve. Additionally we could go home, go fishing, go hunting, build something, we didnt go home and have social media to keep up the pressure.

Long story short, we didnt have less violence, we just seen an escalation of violence.

Add in AI joblessness and the young face a miserable, purposeless existence.
What AI joblessness? It is just shifting to new jobs. Before PCs became common we had clerk/typists, receptionists, bookkeepers etc. in a lot of businesses. PCs eliminated a lot of jobs in the office not to mention whole production lines (e.g. IBM selectric) for equipment that became obsolete disappeared. Instead millions of people got new opportunities, and previously unimaginable products got created.

Purpose is what one makes of it. Evolve or die. I started my first company with my two partners at the time using mini computers (DEC and Data General) for projects. Today we are using servers and PCs at a fraction of the cost. Instead of using assembly language we are using AI and high level languages and packaged software instead of rolling our own.

Yesterday, I realized I ran out of Creatine, I went online and Amazon delivered it the same afternoon.

The most precious thing in life is time. Anything that helps save that and make my life efficient is welcome.

I was wondering about this, I figured it was more emotionally driven and there are some games being played around futures and options. Which is why it shoots up like a rocket and comes down like a feather since all of those futures and hedges need to be worked out of the system. I also think though this is why the spot price didnt hit 200 dollars at the start of the war.

As someone who lives in this world I would love to hear if my interpretation is correct or if it is truly just emotions at any given time?

A couple years back one cranky old prick actually pointed his handgun at my dog. I leveled my shotgun at his grandson standing next to him.

So you would kill a child who did nothing to you rather than the man?

He could have justifiably used deadly force on you at that point.

I have a real problem with this conduct.

As a kid in the 1970's, we couldn't afford boxing gloves, so myself and the some of the neighbor kids would wrap towels around our hands and have little boxing matches. Plenty of bloody noses to go around.
But it was all in good fun.

You are absolutely correct. I was a senior officer in a Fortune 500 company. My peers all drove expensive cars and had second homes in Arizona or Hawaii. My wife and I maintained a comfortable but modest lifestyle and lived without any debt,

When the company wanted to promote me into a role leading to the CEO’s office, I decided to get off the merry-go-round. I was 49, and regardless of age, likely the only officer who could afford to do so. It’s all about deciding to live responsibly within your means, not about how much money you make.

Radical Islamist plows a car into crowd at a Berlin pride event.
I bet that creates a conundrum for how the MSM media wil report it.

Each of us has the ability to resolve this problem. Short of abandoning the politics thread entirely, we can simply press the ignore button, and @Big_Easy simply disappears from our lives.
Were you not the one who asked me what I advocated for? You asked for an answer, and when you got one you didn't like, you throw a temper tantrum.
