In the future there will be an alternate reality people can go off into and live for a while.

It would be nice if Pocahontas and Bernie and their followers could go live in that alternate universe right now.

Where millionaires and billionaires wealth. Realized, and unrealized is confiscated. All of their property, liquid or otherwise confiscated by the treasury. Given to Bernie and Warren to spend “Fairly”. Then in two years when it’s all gone, I’d like to see what Bernie and Pocahontas pull out of their hat.

It wouldn't be their hat they'd be pulling their ideas out of!

My experience with the VA has been the same.

Strange. I had no trouble at all getting my hearing aids approved. Took a tumble while elk hunting and unknowingly lost one. They gave me a new PAIR (I wanted to know how to buy another one). The VA in Montana called to see if I got my COVID vaccination. Finally gave up waiting for the shitshow to resolve here and drove seven hours to Minneapolis VA hospital, walked in, got vaxed (Johnson's thankfully!), sat for the mandatory waiting period to check for allergic reaction, got in the car, and drove home. Montana VA called again to make sure I got the shot. "How are you feeling?" Terrible. Hernia is killing me with guts in my scrotum but there's no elective surgery here due to COVID. "We can fix that." Next day the SURGEON in Minneapolis calls. I describe what's going on. "Can you come in to see me Thursday. Sounds like this needs to be looked after sooner rather than later." Sure, but it's still going to be later because I have two week quarantine when I come back from appointment. "Oh right, you're in Canada. Hang on for a minute." He comes back on the phone: "I'll see you Thursday at noon and we will do the surgery Friday morning at 9:30.". He scheduled surgery without even physically seeing me! Surgery went fine and Saturday afternoon I was driving myself home. Last year my hiatal hernia (stomach) had progressed to the point I was drowning in puke at night even when sleeping in a chair. After a year of waiting for the thoracic surgeon here to call, I phoned the VA clinic in Wisconsin. Two weeks later I had another scope in Duluth and two weeks after that back in Minneapolis for the surgery.

VA care has been great for me. And just lovely people to deal with all the way through. Everyone. Made me furious when those ICE goons killed the VA hospital nurse in Minneapolis.

Bernie and Pocahontas have never run a business or generated anything.
So they do not know that if something is generating revenue, you don’t sell it or get rid of it. (The billionaires). You let it keep handing you money.

Getting rid of it might work for the short term. But future revenue is King.

Pocahontas, when she was on faculty at UT Law School was one of the very few Republicans and she was an expert on Bankruptcy. She was hired by lots of businesses. Am not sure how you go from R to commie as fast as she did. I would suggest more of an act.

In her early career she was a TV personality and expert on personal finance. She was trying to be kinda like a Dave Ramsey or Suze Orman. I remember seeing Warren on Dr. Phil doing just that.

That strategy didn't gain ground, so she then did the leftist politics angle.

I do not believe she has any particular personal values, at least none that she has ever espoused publicly. It's just a persona.

Trump's vandalism of Kennedy Center is being removed today after the midnight deadline expired. Justice Dept still says they plan to to appeal again. How much tax dollars is being frittered with this nonsense. Same thing with the weaponization fund. Supposed to be dead in the water but govt won't confirm it in writing. At least she adapted. She realized it’s much easier to sell white guilt, wealth inequality, government grift than turn a wrench or actually produce a product.

I served 30+ years in the military in various capacities and I have next to no use for the VA. My personal experience has been that they delay, stonewall, refuse treatment much more often than they actually help one of us. I fought with them fo 10 years to get hearing aids while I was still in the reserves. I had annual hearing tests which clearly showed decreased hearing loss and they always found some excuse to deny me hearing aids. I finally purchased them at Costco.
I limit my contact with them to my annual visit to remain in the system. I go in one week to piss and bleed and back the next week to chat with the doctor. All my other health issues are conducted with the appropriate civilian specialist all covered by Medicare and Tricare.
I firmly believe that anyone who has a valid DD214 should receive any and all health care he(she) requests free of any financial cost, if they wish to endure the VA bureaucracy. We have served, suffered and are duly entitled to such.

The VA stopped mailing my VA disability cheques more than thirty years ago I'm guessing. Didn't think they even allowed that any longer. The funds are direct deposited into my Montana bank account. Why would you want to risk having the cheques stolen or lost in the mail?

Because I want to. It is my slush fund separate from the family funds.

She wrote a book back in the day called “the two income trap” found it at a book store by accident and it was actually good. Was shocked to see how far she changed.. I suspect She felt like she had a better chance in politics as a women in the Democratic Party. To bad politicians do not actually run on what they believe in

Open a separate account, at another bank if you want. That's why I elected to have my disability deposited in Montana bank instead of our bank here. That way the money was always available to us when we returned to visit my family. My wife was fully in agreement.

I think I have four different accounts at my bank here. My daily chequing account, a savings account which formerly received my monthly "allowance" from investments (all those investments have been transferred to another institution with the allowance dumped monthly into the general chequing account), a US funds savings account (that's essentially dormant), and an "Other" chequing account (without cheques) that receives a monthly allowance from funds I have invested from my daughter that I gave her from her mom's death settlement. That way I pay the taxes on income from that investment and exert some discretionary (very limited) control. If she doesn't have to borrow from me during the month (I gave her a credit card ostensibly for her taxidermy business), the allowance into that account is turned over to her by simply transferring to the savings account which is joint (and almost always overdrawn ). Usually that allowance just gets moved into my chequing account (when I receive the credit card bill!). Formerly those funds were transferred to me every month when I was paying my grandkids daycare bill (which didn't cover half of it).

So you really should open a separate account for direct deposit. In the old days I actually did have a cheque stolen from my mailbox. Back then the cheques came in very distinctive govt envelopes with a window showing the actual blue cheque with name and punch outs for early computers. EVERYONE knew exactly what was in those envelopes. The govt had a huge problem with the black market in stolen cheques. And it was a huge hassle trying to get restitution. I can't imagine what it was costing taxpayers, not to mention disabled vets. Most vets just said screw it and didn't bother trying to get restitution. The mailing policy is more discreet now. I just received my first payout for US govt pension (I have yet to apply for the pension but I've reached the age now where it's apparently compulsory to send payments). I didn't realize it was a cheque and just threw the US govt generic unopened envelope in the file for my accountant to do taxes. He made the discovery. So maybe these days it's a bit less risky getting cheques mailed to you, but it's still a risk. Also, snail mail is totally unreliable. With automatic deposit, the funds are in your account the same day every month. You can count on it. Also it saves the govt the cost of printing cheques and envelopes and mailing (if the govt even pays postage?). And investigating missing cheques.

Private healthcare is rationed ... to the wealthy. Oh wait ... that would be you.

When my mom was dying of cancer, I was back in Montana helping look after her. I took a look at the invoices that the hospital and doctors were billing Medicare. Appalling ripoffs! I have friends and family back there and I know the cost and quality of their health care. And health "insurance." Pfft. The only insurance they can count on is fighting to get insurance companies to pay SOME of their health costs ... after deductable, co-payment, etc, etc.
