Dave...You have it all wrong.. it is not so simple..perhaps with isolationist american eyes but that does not add upp..

Your government will feel an immense pressure from the rest of the world as the energy crises grow..

The iranians will probably fire against all shipping traffic they consider hostile..

The pressure will be so big that Trump simply cannot ignore it..

That means that the strait AND the iranian coastline need to be secured..otherwise the tankers will be denied insurance and thus not sail..

Unless a deal with Iran can be struck..wich presently is pretty futile..

Be careful of your sources…they are clearly lying or manipulating the truth…

US forces in the region have stayed in hotels for as long as they have been in the region… staying in barracks or base housing in the Middle East is not the norm and never has been..

That includes the contractors… my personnel in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia work on base, but do not live there.. they all have apartments out on the local economy..

Again, living in hotels and apartments has been the standard for decades… one of those housing complexes got hit in a bombing in Dharhan about 30 years ago…

I’m wrong that you don’t understand asymmetric warfare?

Or wrong that the US doesn’t care about your demand?

Clearly both are obviously correct..

You can be as arrogant as you like..but the closure can not and will not be ignored.

And you can continue to cry as much as you want..

It doesn’t change the fact that clearly the US doesn’t care about your crying…

That’s not arrogance… that’s statement of fact..

Prove otherwise..

Regarding your cannot and will not be ignored arrogance..

What exactly do you think Norway is going to do about it (other then cry and stamp its feet like a child)?

" Asymmetric warfare refers to conflicts where opposing forces differ significantly in military capabilities and strategies, often involving unconventional tactics employed by weaker parties to exploit the vulnerabilities of a stronger adversary. "

Per definition..

Excately as Iran is playing it...backing Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.. etc.

And they have us by the balls by denying tanker traffic..

How about you read and post the entire definition rather then plucking the parts that are convenient to you…

And then explain how them backing hezbollah, Hamas, and the houthis are impacting the straits any differently today than they were a year ago, 5 years ago, or 15 years ago..

Again… demonstrating your lack of experience and ignorance of warfare in general, and asymmetric warfare specifically…

They don’t have “us” by the balls.. they have you by the balls… and the US doesn’t care… that’s what you can’t seem to grasp…so let me say it again… the US does not care…

I do hope, for increasing of production capacity of oil in Norway. And then to look for job there.
Becasue I dont see stabilization of gulf region for time being.

Go Norway!

You are deploying what is it 5000 Marines and 2000 troops from the 82.Airborne..

Now this:

10.000 more..? This is hardly for just taking Kharg Island..

If Iran remains stubborn and doesn't make a deal acceptable to the U.S, SOON, the Military just might rain down the thunder on Irans power grid, and take over the straight of Hormuz
There is a reason why 3000 troops of the 182nd Airborne unit are being sent over.
If that happens , it will really give you something to snivel about

BTW..the norwegian government just cut automotive fuelprices substantially..

Furthermore, Iran says the straits are open.. they have committed to not engage any ship not participating in the war against them..
Except their definition of participation includes stopping at any port in the Gulf which is everyone. They are letting in only ship to and from Iran.

They just blocked two Chinese owned ships, which is interesting.

Again demonstrating a lack of understanding of warfare and an inability to read..

Considering deploying is not the same thing as deploying..

10,000 is an infantry division…

Considering the Iranian army and IRGC have a manning of roughly 600,000… an infantry division is not an invasion force… it’s simply a larger raiding force (that again isn’t deployed)…

And.. the 2000 from the 82nd haven’t been deployed either… and… it’s not 2000 personnel… it’s a single brigade that’s on ready standby that has the ability to be in theater and combat deployed in less than 48 hours…

Thats probably why Trump came with an ultimatum that if the Iranians did not opened the straight he would bomb their energy facilities etc...he then made a TACO when they did not meet his demands in time and gave them additional time, and then once again extened the timeline suggesting it was because the Iranians were willing to negotiate which they, at least according to themselves are not...so it will be interesting to see what happens next. Perhaps he is just extending the timeline until all ground forces are in place?

It does sound like fuel prices are rising almost as much in the US as in other parts of the world so one might assume internal pressure on him will rise almost as much as external pressure...

You need a civics lesson. GOP needs 60 votes to pass the DHS funding, Hence, why it has been blocked by Democrats 8 times so far.
And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Republicans refusing to negotiate at all with the Dems. Unfortunately the standard republicans imposed during the Biden administration was everything bad that happens under Biden is his fault. Therefore by the same standard, TSA agents not gettign paid is all trumps fault.

I cry on behalf of the parts of the world starved for fuel..Vietnam, the Phillippines, Australia, Slovenia...the fuel starvation is becoming a global challenge..

Furthermore..Iran has acknowleged Trumps TACO..they know he is bluffing..

That’s not entirely correct.

They have said ships from friendly nations (India, Pakistan, china, Russia, etc) can pass period… Indian ships carrying fuel oil have already passed..

The 2 Chinese ships began passage according to Reuters, but then turned back on their own stating that safe passage couldn’t be guaranteed… there’s no record of Iran actually threatening those ships..

Data can say whatever the person want it to say. You know - liars, damn liars, statisticians.

As to juries, they can and do get it wrong sometimes. If my choice was tried by 12 or carried by six, I would certainly take the tried 12.
Better than one making things up as they go. If one is intelligent enough with data you can see how someone manipulated the data.

Based on the amount of MAGA's crying about the cost of gasoline right now...I think that many in the US actually do care about the strait. He's wrong that the pressure will come from outside the country, it will come from within. The longer it is stays closed, the higher the prices. 4-6 more months should be long enough to guarantee Republicans loose the house in the next election at least.

Unless of course TACO chicken's out again.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
