I love the duplicity of California...

People cant afford to live.. we must raise wages.. burger flippers at McDonalds must get paid $20 an hour ($41,600 annually).. its unfair that they cant afford the basics in life!

while at the same time..

We'll purposely create the highest gas prices in the US through taxes and regulation.. Have the highest utilities costs in the US (60% higher than many other places) through taxes and regulation.. we'll inflate the hell out of housing costs by creating ridiculously strict zoning laws, and limit construction through regulation.. we'll create one of the most aggressive progressive tax systems in the country.. etc..etc..etc..

so that now.. even at $20 an hour a burger flipper cant afford to buy a burger...

so.. lets further tax gas! lets further tax utilities.. lets further restrict housing! lets tack on a little more income tax! that way we can give the burger flipper a raise!

200 people pay 47% of California income tax. California is trying to put a wealth tax on them now. That number could be shrinking fast.

It’s all about “affordability” isn’t it?

Illinois residents, our neighbors to the East, pay $9K a year on average in local and state taxes. We Missourians pay about $6K a year. Three-thousand buck goes a long way even these days…especially for folks in the lower and middle class trying to make ends meet.

Illinois has one of the highest gas tax rates in the country. About $0.84/gal. Missouri has one of the lowest rates at $0.29/gal. Paying 50-cents a gallon more for gasoline takes a meaningful chunk out of most Illinoisan’s family budgets.

But Illinois Democrats want to make “affordability” a major issue? Kinda like getting a lecture on the virtues of temperance from the town drunk.

The price Texans pay for no income tax.

I laughed at the proposal of a "Wealth Tax" that some politicians advocate. We already have a wealth tax, it's called property tax.
Regardless of location people complain about taxes.

Just look at Oklahoma, the locals endlessly complain about taxes but if you combine Oklahoma property tax, state income + sales tax and it's still nothing compared to Texas property taxes.

Yet people in Oklahoma wonder why their schools are rated lowest in the country and the roads are crumbling.

The county where my farm is brought up a $0.01 dedicated road and bridge tax to vote; you would have thought they were trying to dissolve social security with the public temper tantrums being thrown by the elderly residents...... the same elderly residents that vote down every school bond while children are piled on top of each other is outdated crumbling schools!

Can an individual with comments like this win a Senate seat in Texas.

I think it will depend on how much the Republicans go for each others throats. If they can't unite behind whichever candidate wins the runoff Jimmy could win. He used to be my state rep before the last redistricting and I have no use for him. Both Cornyn and Paxton are carrying a lot of baggage that could hurt Republican chances. If the Republicans throw the election away Jimmy would be slightly better than Jazzy.

You can stop watering your lawn. I gave up caring about mine and was amazed at what I saved in water, fertilizer, and aggravation. Just keep it mowed short it all looks fine.

You are correct. Weeds mowed short look like grass!

But can you surf and ski on the same day?
I can water ski and surf the internet at the same time.

Fair points. As an outsider looking in he seems to be Beto 2.0.

Talarico I has a lot of support in the area where I live, much more than Beto ever had. He should not be underestimated.

If Homini grit’s son takes over and survives for any length of time, watch for paling skin tones over time.

No sir. Not allowed. I need to move

Can you put in a second water meter? Many municipalities allow for a house water meter and a separate one for sprinkler system and/or pool. You save on the sewer portion of the water bill.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
