Carney won by opposing the constant barrage of 51 state foolishness trump kept pushing in the media and thru the use of attack ads that painted poilievre as the Canadian trump. It was excellent ad work on the liberals behalf and trump kept the pressure on the media right up until the morning of the election it was very well orchestrated.

I think that is initially correct. However, with the Italian and then German occupation of North Africa threatening Egypt and the larger Middle East, and Japanese attacks on Singapore and India, the war became about Empire as well. 2.5 million Indian soldiers in addition to other commonwealth members served under British command across every theater of war.

The saddest outcome of the war, other than the horrific casualties, was the fate of Poland. As you correctly pointed out, the German/Russian invasion of September 39 was the casus belli, yet the free Polish government never returned home as the nation fell completely under Soviet control.

Conservative party can't even back its own leader. Neither could his constituents if memory serves me. Isn't that why he had to switch to another riding? He lets his mouth shoot from the hip, just like Trump. Same style. And yes, it was poison at election time. By then Canadians had enough of that "style" of politics. Also, the Conservative party was and still is in disarray thanks to the wildcats in Alberta. Anyway, at least Carney acts like a grownup. Sadly, there really wasn't another option. Vote for a party fighting with itself led (maybe?) by a crackpot or vote for Liberals ... or vote NDP (yuck, yuck, yuck, whooop). How else could the Liberals have won after Trudeau if it wasn't by default?

I agree that the British did not fight the war for altruistic reasons but the Germans did not threaten the British interests in the Middle East until after Britain honored their Polish treaty and Japan did not threaten the empire in the Far East and India until late 1941. Altruism evidently flies out the window when bullets start to fly and bombs to drop. Also, maybe altruism, although honorable, is a dumb reason to go to war. Still, I don't know what Britain could have done under the circumstances.

If Lemon was asked to leave the church and didn't, he was guilty of trespassing and could/should have been charged under state statutes ... unless the ICE pastor declined to press charges. Hmmm. Simply entering the church would not appear to be an offense. Most Christian churches invite guests as potential converts. I think charging him with a federal offense for 1st Amendment interfering with freedom of religion is a stretch, to say the least. It would seem that would require proof Lemon and his gang were intent on attacking the church/religion but in fact the object of their ire was clearly the ICE pastor. It was personal, not directed at the religion. If the church wanted justice why didn't they pursue the local police and courts route which would be more likely to succeed? A slam dunk for conviction (but only IF Lemon was asked to leave and refused). Local charges, court, and conviction would not be as sensational as having Trump's stooge bring federal charges ... which likely will go nowhere ... except generate headlines ... and waste precious taxpayer dollars prosecuting. One would think that at this point more ICE related headlines in Minneapolis would be the last thing this administration needs. But of course that would require an administration that could think.

Me think it is a sign of the current state of affairs between USA and Europe.

The USA reserves the right not to update software or restrict the usage of its weapons as we saw in Ukraine when Trump got mad at Zelensky.

Read the FACE act. This has nothing to do with the 1. Amendment. It might help getting your facts straight before making statements, something you accuse Trump administration of doing.

My take on PP is that he is great at what he does, and that’s being an attack dog. But if he’s the one in power, that suddenly becomes a moot point. He would make a great second in command, but he’s not effective bringing people together beyond their hate of Trudeau. It will be interesting what comes from the leadership review.

I bet it would be an issue for some voters , my late father for instance would have had difficulty with that much reading and it’s not legal to go behind the screen and help him. Maybe things are different were you are but a lot of the older generation here men especially didn’t have a lot of education.
