Politics

The IRGC will. They are the true believers. The Basij are a militia, and however fundamentalist, are not nearly as disciplined a force. Should things start to go south, like most militias, most would head for the city slums and countryside.

The challenge is getting weapons into the hands of the rebellion.
I'd say that's the easy part.

The hard part is summoning the political will to take responsibility for doing it.

Even more difficult than that is sustaining the political will to maintain the support until it's conclusion.

The Iranian government supports those things. A new government may not.

Regime change is a risky game but it’s hard to imagine a new government being as anti-America as the current one. It’s sort of their raison d'être.
I just remember how well it worked in the late 70's.

I think the hard part is getting those weapons in the hands of the protestors in the major cities, there appears to be armed resistance in some places based on videos starting to circulate.

Interestingly, the Kurds in the North, who are armed, seem to be staying out of it. Maybe they are waiting to pick up the pieces and form more of an autonomous region after the dust settles.

He has to win in the primary. And he's third in a 3 way race.

Crockett knows she can't win no matter who the R is in the race. She will win the D primary.

Im ok with any of the 3 R candidates.. I do think Cornyn has probably tanked himself in TX though.. the extreme far right doesnt like him because he has not been an avowed Trump loyalist, and the hard core 2A folks think hes too soft on 2A issues (even though the NRA gives him an A+ rating)..

I think Paxton will likely get the nod rather than Hunt. Hunt gave up his seat in the house to run for the senate. I think he's likely going to regret that move.. Hopefully Houston will backfill his house seat with someone sensible (I never trust Dallas or Houston or Austin or San Antonio for that matter.. to do anything sensible when it comes to politics)...

while not "easy" per se.. its a whole lot easier than most would think...

the US has the right people, tools, and skill sets to get it done.. and get it done pretty expeditiously if we really want to.. and can at the same time organize and train groups with those weapon systems...

to @Red Leg 's earlier point though.. Iran wont retaliate against the US for that sort of action (it would be obvious who is doing it, even if we maintained a position of plausible deniability).. they would launch attacks against israel.. and Im not convinced that Israel has the ability to intercept the level of attacks the Ayotollahs would launch if they believed they were about to completely lose power..

Israel could likely ward off a substantial amount of the incoming weapons.. but they wouldnt get them all... and they would suffer fairly significant casualties I believe..

Whats going on in Iran is a much more complicated affair than MSNBC understands or is willing to report, unfortunately..

You are correct. I forgot about our circular firing squad. I truly despise Paxton. He seems to have many of the same virtues as Tom Delay - though Delay at least had the excuse of inhaling too much bug spray.

I cant get a good read on Paxton... some days I think he's got an aligator mouth and a canary birds ass... loves to get loud, but lacks the ability to actually accomplish anything.. other days I think hes just hard headed enough to bang his skull against the wall until it crashes down and he gets what he wants... He is definitely my least favorite of the three... Although I'll gleefully vote for him rather than anyone the D's put on the ticket..

Paxtons wife, Angela represents the district I live in, in the State Senate.. I think I'd prefer her over her husband.. Im not a huge fan of hers either.. but I at least like her priorities.. she's gotten heavily behind property tax reform and education reform in TX.. shes very strong on border security and raises hell regularly over TX spending, maintaining a balanced budget, etc..etc..

I am a Texas republican who has held his nose and voted for Trump three different times. I am a fan of John Cornyn. The intellectuals in the MAGA movement seem to hate him, I assume because he actually knows how to get things done in Congress as opposed to simply shouting platitudes. But their lack of enthusiasm is a potential issue in November. The good senator has to be on his knees thanking God for his opponent this year.

If Cronyn gets to the election he should be re-elected . As an outsider looking in his biggest obstacle seems to be the primary. You and others in Texas are certainly closer to this situation than I.

I will admit I was watching with the hope he was going to lay out that ass in the red jacket. Good on him
Like most pansies the biggest fight they have ever had was on the internet,
None have ever had to go put their shoes on, and talk with their hands!
That old boy showed them it was hands throwing time !

Love it!

The Clinton's didn't show up for the congressional deposition of the Epstein case.
They are all about being above the law as usual!
It’s time for a purge of corrupt politicians on both sides who are doing insider trading
For their own benefit or profit for being able to be above the law

Good for them. We do not need more political theatre. If the GOP loses the House, the GOP has no grounds for complaining about countless investigations of the administration that will be forthcoming. Not to mention the third impeachment of Trump. What goes around, comes around.

My personal trainer that comes to my home is a naturalized Iranian. His mother was visiting and then went home the day before flights to Iran got canceled.

He was not able to contact her until this morning via landline when she called. He said, she was crying, could hear gunshots throughout the day and thinks a lot more than the 3,000 reported are dead.

Sad state of affairs.

Just curious. Who gets to ignore a Congressional subpoena. The Biden DOJ put Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon in prison for refusing to testify. Is what the Clintons are doing any different?

Well, if they are going to subpoena all the people that were in Epstein's social circle, methinks they should start with Trump.

Also, the Bannon and Navarro subpoenas were for a legitimate investigation with possible charges to come. Clinton's is in order to embarrass him.

The court cases are done, guilty parties have been convicted. Rest is just Kabuki theatre, why is Congress is even involved? What happened to working on the economy etc.?

How does she get away with her shit?.....

There’s a reason that Minnesota was the ONLY state Reagan didn’t win in 1984. Then, Minnesota got even worse when local politicians brought in Somali and Mung people by the thousands.

I agree that there are probably a lot more important things to deal with. I don’t disagree that it is political. From both sides.

My question is regardless of reasons how is it okay for one side to disregard a Congressional subpoena and get away with it and the other side to be prosecuted and go to prison over the same action.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
