Politics

NY has the government it deserves.. Houchel, AOC, Mamdani, Schumer, etc…

If the new mayor wants to double down on DEI, social welfare, sanctuary city, and all the other nonsense that has crippled cities all over the country… I’m all for it.. let the city and the state suffer the consequences of their decision…

My only bitch is that federal tax dollars get spent there and that too many New Yorkers flee the crap hole they have created and then try to drag their failed policies and programs with them to wherever they relocate..

If that clown was what you wanted.. stick around and enjoy your circus.. don’t drive your VW beetle stuffed full of court jesters down here for me to have to deal with…

NY, NJ, MD & DE account for 80% or so of our border here in PA. It’s amazing we’ve remained to stay even a purple state as long as we have, particularly after the mass Covid influx. Consider yourself fortunate to have a couple thousand miles of conservative buffer between you and those Marxist jesters.

I have to hand it to PA.. if youre going to go purple.. at least have a modicum of sense in who youre going to put into office..

while I dont agree with much of anything that Shapiro stands for.. at least he has some freaking common sense and appears to genuinely care about his constituents.. and while I disagree with Fetterman on most everything as well.. he's actually been a pleasant surprise.. not because he is a right winger by any stretch of the imagination.. but because he at least appears to be a decent human being that simply thinks differently than I do about a lot of things.. (I sorta like hoodies too.. so I dont take him to task on his wardrobe either :D )...

I think if I lived in Philly, I'd be losing my mind with the mass migration of new yorkers bringing their jackassery to my state..

living on the outskirts of Dallas is bad enough with all of the Californians and Coloradans that keep coming to TX.. but at least the majority of them seem to gravitate closer to Austin... while theyre impacting state politics, theyre at least not bringing their individual social values (or lack thereof) into our neighborhoods up here (yet)..

Although the open borders got us pretty hard.. there is a very obvious and noticible difference in the local high school for example... not just in how people look.. but in how they behave (which is what is important to me)..

Walz again this morning, supported by idiots at Politico, is doubling down on the idea that fraud is not really crime… okie dokie…
I looked up fraud in google and it simply said Tim Walz?

I’m a cynic. I’ve seen nothing from Shapiro during his whole career in PA governance that, to me, isn’t anything but political. IIRC, he has spent the entirety of his time since college in or associated with government. He’s intelligent and learned how to play the game. He wants to be president, that’s been evident since his AG days. I don’t know the truth as to whether or not Harris offered him the VP slot last year but I have no doubt if it was offered to him, he declined. He’s smart enough to have seen the albatross she would have been.

Fetterman cracks me up. Won’t ever get my vote but at least he has a bit of personality and sense since his stroke.

I’m two hours west of Philthy in a 2R to 1D registered voter county. It wasn’t just the City of Brotherly Love that got hammered with NY, Jersey and MD refugees. We got enough that it has noticeably changed the feel of this once rural and conservative area of the commonwealth.

BTW- If you want a peek in to the state’s politics, read a little on Arlen Specter. Was he a republican? A democrat? A republican?…….

Sweden hiring unvetted, muslim immigrants as elderly care workers, handing out 4 year sentences and refusing to at least deport. I mean, this shit is f***ing sick.

Of course it's no surprise that Mohamed Ali didn't want to deport this guy. He has no problem allowing this guy around his minor child either.

"Judge Mohamed Ali argued that Shakir is established in Sweden, where he has close contact with his daughter, who is a Swedish citizen.

'We have reviewed the reasons for and against deportation. On the one hand, the crime and the penalty, on the other hand, the connection to society,' Ali said.

'We have particularly taken into account that he has lived here since he was a youth and he has a minor child here in Sweden. These are very strong circumstances.''

Like someone in the comments said, it's the women's fault for not wearing a burka.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Jeremiah Johnson. I bet I have seen it 20 times.

This cycle with Russia and seeking peace feels like it has played out more than that. With regards to Putin, I wish The Donald would call a spade a spade... but have zero hopes it will ever happen.
Only 20?? You better get with it!
