Hey y'all,
I am in the process of planning a trip to Poland in September and have been in contact with Prohunt. They said "According renting rifle it’s not a problem but you need to bring with you your hunting permit and rifle permit from US". Does this mean I need to bring my hunter's safety and say like a deer hunting license from my state or are these separate documents?
Thanks,
Reed

You’ll need to send them your US state hunting license and if they are asking a 4457 for any rifle to convert to a Polish hunting license. It’s pretty standard practice for European hunting. It’s proof you are legally licensed to hunt and have firearms in your home country. I did not however carry any US licenses with me while hunting.

Texas and other states are switching over to digital licenses. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

When I was hunting Croatia and Slovania I had to send my license & 4457 as I was taking my gun. I took my Texas license & Hunters Ed card but did not need it either once there.

I dealt with this for getting a Victoria visitor firearms permit.... To borrow a rifle in Australia.

I ended up going to the state troopers office and they literally had to wright "Texas does not require a firearms license and the state of Texas does not have an official stamp/seal to attach."

I would bring a 4457, copy of your hunting license and hunters safety card.

Other than sending the agency your license and 4457 you won’t need to do anything else on your part besides sign a few papers on the first day.

In most of the European Countries the foreign hunters must have:
• gun passport ( for European hunters) or any document that proofs you have a hunting rifle in your country. For US hunters the 4457 form is the most common type of paper accepted here.
• hunting license ( is the document that proofs you are a hunter in your country)
• insurance ( the European hunters are getting one along with their hunting license and is valid entire Europe, the other hunters must have one for the period of their hunt)
All those documents must be in the possession of the hunter during his hunting trip, either is bringing his own gun or renting one.
Based on those documents you will get a temporary hunting permit valid only for the period you are hunting there.

It is illegal to rent a rifle in Poland

Would Rifle Permit services help/advise on this?

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
