Trying too decide on a scope for a 375. Looking at Leica 2.5x10x42 Swarovski z6 1.5x10x42 al help is appreciated.pros and cons of each other suggestions welcome

I would go with the Swarovski, but they are both the top 2 scopes.

the swarvo sounds good , like that 1.5 to 10 zoom .

Are you sold on having to have one of these? Or are you open to other options?

If you have to have one or the other, I would go with the Swarvo, because of the name.

Open too any and all options

High end Zeiss and Kahles are good choices also. Nikon Monarch is a good scope. Leupold..

You would be surprised how good the Zeiss Conquests are for the money. If they fit the magnification range you want. The Swarovoski is a great piece of glass. Bruce

I put a Zeiss Victory HT 1.5-6 42mm on my 375. It has a lighted dot over the reticle which you can enable in low light which I used to take a Black Wildebeest near dusk. It is bar none the clearest scope I have ever used. I just bought a Zeiss Victory Diavari 4-16 x 50mm Rapid Z for my 300 win Mag. I found you can really do a lot more and at lower magnification with these scopes. Perhaps it's due to the 30mm tubes.

I'm replacing all my Leupold VX II and VX III scopes with Zeiss scopes; the Leupolds are just utterly outclassed. Granted, the Leupolds cost a lot less.

Be sure to compare warranties!!! I don't recall all the details but I my recollection is that the Zeiss warranty was the best. Perhaps the warranties are all comparable now.

Took 1.7 X 10 Swaro this past summer. Great scopes. Took trophy waterbuck at dusk.

Are you planning on using the .375 for dangerous game only or an all around plains game dangerous game gun?

Wanting an all around scope that will work from 15 yes too 350yds

Leupold has quality optics, heavy duty, unmatched customer service & warranty. No questions! With Zeiss.... good luck. Great optics, heaven forbid you have an issue with them, your stuck.

Just to throw a few others into the mix that I didn't notice mentioned. Schmidt & Bender, Nightforce, and US Optics. All three are top of the line as far as quality, function, reliability and customer service go.

Cheers,

Bwh mentioned trouble with zeiss can you explain. I have several victory divaris love them have never had trouble so I don't know about customer service would like too hear because I'm also looking at a new pair of binocs and the new zeiss victors are on the short list

I would add Zeiss as equal to Leica & Swarovski, just not the Conquest line.

And while I admire the top 3, I still buy Leupold and Nikon because I'm cheap.

You bet.... There is no doubt zeiss makes quality optics. My experience was with their Conquest product line. I guess some would say that is their entry level. Nonetheless, was not pleased, had trouble, got extensive run around from their customer service. My buddy is a gun/optic dealer... He won't even sell or carry their line anymore. I live a couple miles from Cabelas, got a buddy there behind the gun counter. He sees it all. He plugs Leupolds, vortex... Because of quality, price & warranty. Nightforce is US sniper grade & you will pay for it. Swaro is awesome, but you'll pay for it. And I think it only matters the 10 min before or after sundown. I can only comment on zeiss' entry line. I'm sure their upper end are superior.

Just my experiences....

I own Zeiss, Leupold and Swarovski scopes and like them all. But I tend to match the scope to the gun I am putting it on and what I'm using it for. The biggest thing I go with on a scope is bigger tube size and bigger objectives make it easier on my old eyes. Bigger object more light. At least for me.

Let's not forget Cabelas has a deal with Vortex and they make a killing every time they sell one. The employees of Cabelas get a great deal on Vortex scopes too. Vortex is nice....Leupold & Nikon are still better, just my preferrence. Better eye relief.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
