on a lighter note...

I ran across the buffalo poem in the Thormahlen & Cochran Safaris newsletter. One of their hunters wrote it and he has now passed on due to old age. They posted it in a tribute to him. I liked the poem and thought you guys might enjoy it.

Inyati
The GPS is very nice,
Your laser sight is keen,
But when Inyati comes your way,
Your instinct is to scream.
If looks alone could put one down,
His stare would stop your heart,
For when he tilts those awful horns,
Your composure falls apart.
He’s coming now across the veld,
Consumed with rage and pain;
As death looms close on deadly hooves,
You fight to still your aim.
Your scope is filled with solid black,
Your heart is filled with dread,
And if you used the double gun,
You might not now be dead.

So much good Bourbon in this world. Pity JD isn't in that group. :D

@sgt_zim, no argument there. But my preferred drink is Scotch whisky.

Technically speaking, JD is a whiskey, not to be confused with the fine bourbon of our neighbors to the north in KY. Not trying to be a smart-ass. My grandmother was Anita Motlow of Moore County, TN, and a resident of Lynchburg, TN.

Lem Motlow was the proprietor of Jack Daniels distillery, and used to be featured on JD bottle labels.

JD and bourbon are both whiskeys. A TN whiskey (JD) is charcoal filtered before barrel aging. Belle Meade sherry cask is a particularly fine Tennessee whiskey and will be appreciated by any bourbon/whiskey drinker.

Didn't JD used to say Lem Motlow on guard until the seal is broken?
Some months ago I looked at JD bottles and couldn't find it there.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
