on a lighter note...

Now THAT'S a "Jungle Gym"! But co ed? Heck, myself and a couple of other boys got a "swat" once from the Principal for playing on the "girls" Jungle Gym after being told not to!
Nowadays, in that same picture you have to wonder how many are actually boys and how many are girls. The way things are headed, what they’re wearing doesn’t seem to mean anything. :A Shades:

We used to see how high we could swing on the swingset and then see how far we could jump. Seen a few sprained ankles.
We did that all the time when the swings had the board type seats.

But that was put to a halt when they went to the rubberized belt type of a seat that you couldn't get your rear out of unless you were standing up. But we did manage a few jumps out of them.

Nowadays, many of the kids are so weak they couldn't pull themselves up past the first set of bars!

I really really REALLY think you should…and be sure to post a pic. :giggle:

Do it. I’ll pick the center one for you…and be sure to tuck your pants into them. That combo should make any elk stop and do a double take giving you plenty of time to take him down and get that pic with him.

We had the board type seats and the posts were about 15 feet tall. Long ropes and a long high swing. We got a lot of distance from a jump that high. That was a spring and fall game. Not good in the winter when the ground was frozen unless we piled up a lot of snow to land in. Pretty hard landing even then.

That is when businesses and the world had balls. Now, we have to worry of who's feelings we may hurt by posting pictures with dead animals, blood, and what not. The pussification of America and the world is on an out-of-control dive, and it's going to take a miracle to pull out of that dive.
Only one response to that post that is worthy and that is fuckin-A!

It would of been nice to have concrete or asphalt, all we had was gravel which turned to mud if it rained.

I know more than one kid that lost a tooth or broke a nose while playing on them.
I remember the old man sewing my forehead up because I was showing the other kids how you could go face first down the bars. He was a medic with the 101st, so he told me to quit being such a pussy! Lol

Yep. 45 years later I still have the scars…particularly the one on my tongue where I bit through it as my chin hit my knee. But man did I get air on that one! The old man took one look at it and said “Well, ain’t much we can do bout that, mights well go get your chores done.” Empathy was not his strong point. :ROFLMAO:

Broke my arm in 4th grade doing that.
Set off a whole lot of What do we do's, since I was the first k8d to break a body part during/at school.

teacher took me to the teacher's shared "bandaid" room. Obviously this wasn't a cut, scrape, bruise or bump. Good see the Nurse.

Went to the nurse's room. Again this wasn't the usual stomach ache, headache, sickness, bit more serious typical bump, bruise, scrape, scratch or cut. Call the grandparents come get (me) him and take him (me) to the family doctor.

Family doctor's office. Waited in the waiting area about, forever, (maybe 20 minutes). Doctor said my arm was broken take him to the hospital for x-rays and a cast.

Hospital: nurse, let's see what is wrong, I'll call the doctor to come look at his arm.
Hospital doctor: looks like it might be broken. I'll have it x-rayed and we'll go from there. (Maybe 20 minutes) forever later, dortor returns with the x-rays, yes it broken it'll have to be in a cast for 6 weeks and then we'll (whose we?)(oh, the doc), take a look at it. FYI it was 8 or 9 weeks later, (what you all think I was going to let a broken arm slow me down or stop me from doing other, okay, stupid stuff.) The arm evetually healed back to normal.

I milked that broken arm for all I could around teachers and other adults.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
