on a lighter note...

You joke but someone wrote into a paper here asking that question....and zambia has more speed bumps than anywhere i have seen......humps ...ripples etc of every size going....some of them are so big small cars or loaded ones have to drive over diagonally so don't ground or get stuck....and the warning paint used here wears off after a few months....they have them on roads in middle of nowhere....they are one of my pet hates :mad:

Don't forget Bob, that @Dr Ray and myself both have and LOVE are .270 WINCHESTERS too, so just one more step to Shangri-La. LOL
Lawd son, I'm sure @Bob Nelson 35Whelen quite agrees with me that 270s belong in the same place 243s do...in the gun store, sitting on the shelf, unpurchased, gathering rust and dust

@CoElkHunter
Owning a 270 is only a step up from the 243.
Both are over rated, over hyped rounds. If'n Jack didn't push it down everyone's throats it wouldn't be where it is now.
Imagine if other cartridges got the same amount of advertising, they would still be popular but hey bullshit sells. Just ask a car salesman.

@JOHN GRENZ
I used to call my ex wife ANGEL. She thought it was lovely .
At the pub one night she told me how she liked being called angel and asked why I called her that
STUPIDITY I replied and got a smack in the ear.
She didn't like that I called her angel because, SHE WAS ALWAYS YO IN THE AIR AND HARPING ABOUT SOMETHING.

I bought one of those about a year ago from Bass Pro. A BNIB Browning X Bolt .270 that nobody wanted I guess because it had a few minor scratches on the black synthetic stock. I bought it for $430 out the door. I haven’t hunted with it yet but it shoots great groups with factory 140gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. I have some 150gr Swift A Frames I’ll eventually load up. I have shot several deer and pronghorn with my old mid ‘70s Winchester M70 .270 using 150gr Partitions. Does really well and I don’t have to sport a man bun or drink Bud Light. LOL

Going back to my "can we stop talking about flat shooting" -

270 fanbois and 6.5 manbun fanbois are as annoying as 99% of the Aggies I ever met.

You are right Bob. Jack O pushed it down my throat. Got one when I was 14. 52 yrs later and 300 plus critters and not one lost. Not a tomato stake!

My Remington 700 started life as a 270, but has been rebarreled to 35 Whelen many years ago.
I have another 700 that started life as a 243 growing into a 308, and is now at the gunsmith being rebarreled to 358 win. So there is still hope for those guys

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
