Those of you who have hunted Cape Buffalo will know exactly why its such an addictive hunt and a hunt that deserves all the respect and prestige afforded to it! If you could bottle the feeling of your first buffalo and sell it you'd most definitely be a wealthy man!

Buffalo are truly a noble adversary and it is for this reason that we at Bayly Sippel Hunting Safaris choose to conduct our hunts to the highest standard. Hard hunting on foot by taking the freshest tracks from the day before. The days are long, consisting mainly of following tracks, sweeping roads & checking waterholes. The hunting is fair chase and we will target old bulls as a preference. We have 2 primary locations (both our home bases) that we do our buffalo hunts on. The physical demands of the one concession require a hunter to have very high levels of fitness and the other hunt is a bit more forgiving for someone who may require easier walking. Depending on a hunters physical abilities we will chose either one of the two areas. The bush varies from very thick thorn bush to semi-open savannah. The hunting is fair chase and we target old bulls as a preference. The bulls we are hunting carry the Madikwe bloodline, some of the largest buffalo in Southern Africa with a brain and attitude to match. We hunt large self sustaining herds.

If you can successfully hunt one of our buffalo you will have bragging rights at having successfully done one of the hardest buffalo hunts in South Africa!

• Licensed Professional Hunter, a Tracker, Skinner and hunting vehicle.

• Flight from and to Johannesburg International Airport, and any national flights from one concession to the next.

Hi Gerry,

Thank you for your comment! We have 3 options for our buffalo hunts, Option A is a little over 12,000 acres and is truly a physical experience that will challenge even fit hunters. This is a hunt to not be taken lightly. Option B takes place on about 2500 acres and is less physically taxing. It is still a fantastic hunt but it is more accessible to hunters who may not be up the the demands of walking all day long and constantly ducking under thick brush. Our third option is a reserve hunt on 25,000 acres. This is some of the finest buff cow hunting you can do. Strongly recommended for someone wanting to experience a pure buff hunt. This is also a very physical hunt. This hunt is cheaper due to trophy quality. Please note we have zero size limits on any of our concessions and our focus is always on age. Size is the bonus!
