I am currently shooting a Sabatti in .500 NE, and it didn't come with sling mounts. It will be used for a variety of things, including backing up my wife on her first buff hunt next year. I'd like the ability to sling the rifle, and I'm looking for the type that has a leather loop for the barrels and pistol grip. Does anyone know of a source? I find a few made for double shotguns but nothing that looks all that sturdy. I'm not about to go through the trouble of having a swivel mounted on the barrel rib, so if anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.

I have a good one like you describe that I have used for rifles and shotguns.
The brand name is Torel.
If they are still available, you should be able to locate one on the Internet.

It appears that they aren't made any longer. I do find a few for sale on the web but they're all the traditional style.

I just picked up one of these.

Have only trialed it in the house so far.

John Sharp actually turned me on to it.

Scroll about 2/3 of the way down for the no-stud option.

I talked to those guys too at SCI. They had run out of the slings for studless guns. Their rep gave me his card, been meaning to get one ordered. If you contact him with your guns weight he’ll get you into the right strap.

I found a similar design, at Cabelas of all places. Around the house it works well, so the next step is some field work.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
