Can you enlighten us on the hunting opportunities in Japan? I’ve heard that there are hunts for Sika deer and Wild Boar.

Thank you for the reply. This is from a few years ago. This article gives an insight into how things are here. Basically the country is not gun or hunter friendly, definitely no bow hunting. No outfitters or renting a firearm even if you have a friend here who has a gun license. There are a few clubs, but not being a native speaker makes things difficult. Simply finding a spot to fling some arrows (western style archery) has been extremely difficult, as archery is viewed as a school club sport for young people utilizing Olympic style equipment. At least in the Kyushu area. My hunting time in the future will be back to the states for a few weeks or a trip somewhere I can afford to go to. Unfortunately the dreams cost more than the available! If the draconian laws and mindset here would change Japan would be a great spot…literally hogs everywhere and the deer numbers up north are so overpopulated…and bear…always reported in the news about the animal problems.
Respectfully,
