I forgot in my first post: welcome to the forum! More Montanans here than you’d assume!

@Flanders357 it’ll be Dec 12-14 at the fairgrounds.

I live up between Malta and Havre myself.

I was just over in Malta hunting pronghorn about 2 weeks ago.

Yeah does seem there are several Montanans here. Several of my friends that have gone to hunt Africa are from here. Maybe its because we have such long hunting seasons other than summer lol.

Hello all,

Recently been thinking of doing a South Africa hunt after several friends over the years are more recently have gone and told me they had a blast. To be honest I am a bit overwhelmed with the choices of outfitters, and not knowing much going into it. I've read a few threads on here, and a handful of outfitters were mentioned. Also my friends have recommended their outfitters as well, so doesn't narrow it down much. I am also not sure if I could get booking if I was planning to go anywhere from June to August this year.
There’s actually another option you might want to consider: hunting lodges that are owned and run directly by the professional hunters themselves. It removes a lot of uncertainty, because you’re dealing with the people who manage the land, the wildlife and the hunt from A to Z — not a middleman or a marketing company. It also means the animals, the terrain and the experience are exactly as advertised, with no surprises when you arrive.

For full transparency, I’m a co-owner of a hunting lodge in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. If you ever want information, comparisons, or just an honest idea of how things work on the ground (even if you don’t book with us), feel free to reach out. Always happy to help someone plan a first trip to Africa.

Welcome to the forum. I am also from Montana . I did my first African hunt back in April. It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime but I expect it be the first of hopefully several more. My trophies are preparing to ship and I am in the process of getting shipping quotes. Those of you that have had trophies shipped to Montana, I am curious as to which Port of Entry you used. Seems like Denver and Seattle make the most sense but I would like some input. TIA

I used Coppersmith out of Seattle for both of my trips. I had the crates shipped to a freight facility in Billings (closest big city to me) and picked them up from there.
The first time using Coppersmith the service was excellent. This last time (even the same agent) quite a bit less so.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
