I just ordered a new CZ557 Carbine in .30-06 with iron sights. Had to sell a Remington 7400 in .243 (to a friend whose granddaughter hunts) and a 7600 in .30-06 to make room. I kept the BSA 3x9x40 off the 7600 to scope the new rifle, but I'll probably use the iron sights a couple of times before I mount the scope.

Call me old-fashioned, but without iron sights, a rifle with a ruined scope is a club.

Will send pictures with a range report after I get it.

Congrats, CZ makes a nice reliable rifle.

Should be a lot of fun

When I see a rifle with no sights on it, to me it seems like something a Gunsmith is still working on.

Congrats Jay! I think you're gonna love it (y) I look forward to hearing how she shoots!

Ahh the wheelin and dealin of new rifle purchases, just been there myself. You should be pleased with your purchase.

Hi Guys
A rifle with out iron sights is simply not dressed.
A rifle on a hunt with out iron sights is worse than pitching up on parade with out a belt on..............not done old boy and not to bright
Be safe Guys
Russel

Sorry for the late report, but after having some problems with rings (I bought a great rifle and tried to get by with cheap rings) I got the scope set 2" high at 100 yards. Last two rounds were touching. Going to go out as soon as I can get some time and shoot a little more to get used to it. Shot a box through with open sights before I mounted the scope - no worries.

I posted a picture under the heading "New Little Brother" of that rifle without the scope along with it's "Big Brother" a CZ550 in .375. I need to get another picture with the scope on the carbine and the new peep sight on the .375.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
